With all three of my DC I was certain I was pregnant from about four or five days before my period was due. My boobs got bigger and blue veins appeared on them, I felt nauseous, was more tired than usual, had a very noticeable heightened sense of smell & a metallic taste in my mouth. I've only ever done three pregnancy tests in my life, they were just to confirm what I already knew.

Girlwiththearabstrap · 26/12/2017 20:40

The levels of detection on pregnancy tests are pretty low i think, so if you're pregnant enough to be getting symptoms you're probably pregnant enough for a test to show. Saying that, I've never had a pregnancy symptom - my daughter was a surprise and with this baby I had just come off the pill so when I tested it was wishful thinking which turned out to be positive!

Good luck!! Hope you get your positive.

Got my BFP with #2 on the 22nd and I had sore boobs and I was sleeping a lot which is unusual for me. I also was really moody ! But I never felt as though af was on her way at all which I remember having no period symptoms at all with #1 which sealed the deal for me as I was about to start af on the 24th. X

Kit1411 · 26/12/2017 22:20

@pinky yep still in the 2ww, after reading some stories of ladies who had no symptoms/idea whatsoever it’s encouraging. When are you due to test?

PinkyPromise77 · 26/12/2017 22:52

I’m very early into my 2ww Kit1411 and due to test 7th or 8th Jan depending which app I’m looking at :) when are you due to test babe? Fx for you Hun x

I always get sore and hard breasts in the week before my period but when I was pregnant it was something else. They were solid orbs, I literally looked like I'd had a boob job. However, I was having twins so my hormone levels went haywire bloody fast.

eastlondoner · 26/12/2017 22:55

Constant little burps (caused by surge of progesterone apparently)

Kit1411 · 27/12/2017 08:01

@pinky just tested with fmu on a cheapie, I’m 13 or 14 dpo (period due tomorrow) but it’s very faint, so I’m a bit confused, wonder if anyone else on here can help, wouldn’t it be darker by now if I was pregnant?

Kit1411 · 27/12/2017 08:02

Here’s a pic.

MollyCule · 27/12/2017 08:06

I had symptoms very early on, nipples got darker and I felt extremely tired about a week after ovulation. Oh and became very sensitive to smells. Tested positive 9 dpo and I think it was about 4 days before my period was due.

RicStar · 27/12/2017 08:13

My symptoms have always been like dramaalpacas and I have also always known before I tested. Sense of smell and aversion to wine and chocolate.

Sillybilly1234 · 27/12/2017 09:09

Super sensitive sense of smell.

elfieonshelfie · 27/12/2017 09:11

I new deep down the first time but I also think I had a bit of denial as baby wasn't planned and we were getting married the mo the after baby was due.

When the test came up positive it was the shock of my life although I new!

elfieonshelfie · 27/12/2017 09:14

Kit that looks positive to me. I think it depends on how strong hormones are but I'm no expert! Try a first response test or clear blue with how many week you could be Smile

Kit1411 · 27/12/2017 09:17

Thanks @Elfie I’ll get one today and try it in a few days if my period doesn’t show tomorrow. Don’t have any feeling of AF showing like normal though.

sparklytrees · 27/12/2017 10:12

We're TTC and some months I have symptoms from day 17 to 27. Then my period turns up. The symptoms are the same as when I was pregnant. People think I'm nuts but extreme fatigue, sore boobs, runny nose, travel sickness, tons of nausea don't happen every month

MeadowHay · 27/12/2017 12:25

My period was about a week late as my cycles are were generally regular within about 2-3 days of each other. So I took pregnancy test, got a strong positive, ta da all done.

Tbh I don't really get all the "feeling" or like HR asked me if I knew I was pregnant as the HG started Confused ...no, I took a test when my pregnancy was late...surely like most people would?

I appreciate if you have very irregular periods you may leave it some time before you do a test and I would have been the same a few years ago when I had really irregular periods. But most people aren't in that position so it's usually pretty clear that you should take a test when your period which always comes at a similar time suddenly doesn't turn up. So no need for desperately analysing whether your boob pain is pregnancy-related or not and all that crap.

SandysMam · 27/12/2017 12:28

I could smell EVERYTHING! Each layer of a house for example from the bleach in the loo to the dinner cooking, hit me immediately.
I also had serious rage and I don’t get PMT so knew my hormones were up to something.

PinkyPromise77 · 27/12/2017 12:35

EEEEEK!!!! Kit1411 that looks like a positive to me! It may be faint as it’s early on but wait a couple of days or like suggested try the early response but I think congrats are in order babe!!! How exciting xXx

Aw thank you @pinky, I still don’t believe it though, def need a digi to say.

Emmasmum2013 · 27/12/2017 13:41

We were only TTC for 2 months. The second month we'd hardly done anything about it and I honestly thought I'd missed the window of opportunity that month. But then about 3 days before my period was due I got a Kit Kat in work and it tasted really funny.. more like hazelnuts, which I'm really not that keen on. And it definitely wasn't one of the hazelnut flavoured ones! So I gave it away and was told there was nothing wrong with it and thought I was going mad to suddenly dislike KitKats. BFP about 5 days later and it all made sense..

Emmasmum2013 · 27/12/2017 13:43

And then all the heartburn and snuffles I'd had made sense too!
Congrats btw Kit1411!!!
Get a digital and see what it says :) But I'm sure it'll be a BFP.

Cattenberg · 27/12/2017 13:56

A few days after my five day transfer I was convinced it hadn't worked, as I didn't seem to have any pregnancy symptoms and didn't feel any different. However, symptoms may not mean anything as they can be caused by the progesterone medication.

A few days after transfer, I got a mildly stuffy nose and panicked that if I came down with a cold/fever, it might ruin everything. It didn't develop into a cold, and as I've noticed this several times in pregnancy, I now suspect it was pregnancy rhinitis.

Maybe five days after transfer, I was lying in bed one morning when I felt my uterus quivering slightly. At some point I stretched my arms up above my head and felt shooting pains each side of my abdomen, like I'd pulled my tummy muscles. I now suspect that was round ligament pain.

I initially tested too early, got a negative result and was upset, which was really stupid as the final result was a positive!

My sympathies with the tww as I thought I'd cope with it well and not obsess about it, but that turned out to be easier said than done. Good luck!

And Kit1411, my initial positive results were very faint and slow to appear, but after a few days they appeared almost instantly and were darker. I can't see your pic very well, but I'd guess that any second pink line which appears in the specified time is a positive.

foxyfemke · 27/12/2017 14:10

I peed on a stick as I was a few days late... However, in the week before me peeing on a stick I had a couple of acute waves of exhaustion, which I'd never had and have never had since, but I had no idea it could be pregnancy as I had been told I needed a lap & dye before I would be able to get pregnant.

nannybeach · 27/12/2017 16:02

incredibly sore nipples, long before missed period, especially when they get warm, either getting near oven, or even ironing. The night I conceived my eldest DS, I just felt "different" and "knew"
