High temperature in early pregnancy

I'm 8+4 and have got some sort of fluey bug (last 4 days of temperature, thick cough, streaming nose). My temperature is hovering at about 40.5 when the paracetamol wears off. I feel shocking and am really worried about the baby being so hot. Am taking max dose paracetamol (4x2 tablets in 24h), have inhalers, can't take aspirin or nsaids as they make me wheeze.

Am drinking lots of water and trying to keep cool. I don't feel like I'm thinking straight. My toddler also has this and isn't sleeping so we're on our knees!

Is there anything else I can do? This is the time that I lost my last pregnancy so am already on edge without this! Thank you.

I'm almost 13 weeks and have had the flu twice so far since I was around 7 weeks and was laid up for almost 3 weeks. I have never felt so poorly and was begging for them to give me something I was allowed to take to help me get through it.
I ended up in a+e as I was so worried and couldn't get a doctors appointment and 111 told me as I'd had it so long it would warrant a trip to find out what was going on. They confirmed it was flu virus and wouldn't give me anything as under 12 weeks so the only thing you can do is drink plenty, take paracetamol and rest unfortunately. My midwife did say I could take the vitamin c supplements though (berocca type) and I think that did help me finally shift it!!
I hope it doesn't last you too much longer, get well soon!

Unfortunately I think I was just very unlucky, and because I'd only just found out I'm pregnant I didn't have time to get my flu jab beforehand! Thankfully all gone for Xmas Smile

I've had two very high temps, one viral the second a uti (can't believe how quickly that escalated). I'm 20 weeks and all seems fine - I have mild anxiety but you're doing all you can. I panicked when I had a racing heart too and was told to sit up in bed which might help. Keep doing what you're doing and I hope you feel better soon.

I did google high temp stories and was reassured by mothers describing pneumonia and fevers and baby was fine. I think temps are higher in pregnancy due to the extra blood and hormones.
