I was due 8 days ago and have been in very early labour for a few days. Hoping she gets a wriggle on but looks like she may be a Christmas baby.

Lauren83 · 24/12/2017 13:05

I'm being induced on the 8th of Jan, it's dragging now. First baby after 5 cycles of IVF so still can't believe it's happening

Hannabee123 · 24/12/2017 13:13

I feel like I've been pregnant for 8 years everyone's all angsty with end of year pregnancys keep getting pressure off family. Baby will be here when they are ready! 😣

Was due on 22nd. Still waiting. No sign of anything happening yet.

Induction booked for 30th

MadeForThis · 24/12/2017 13:20

What's everyone's thoughts on a Christmas baby?

Lulublu · 24/12/2017 13:22

I was hoping to avoid it... and still might. Contractions every 15 mins at the moment but they are not crazily strong... seems a shame to have an xmas birthday but we’ll make sure she has proper birthdays if she does.

Rhynswynd · 24/12/2017 13:28

I was due Christmas eve. It's now 1227am Christmas day here in Australia. I hope she doesn't arrive today but I can't wait to meet my baby girl.

Hannabee123 · 24/12/2017 13:31

It would be ashame to share a birthday with Christmas day but it can't really be helped. I don't want mine on Christmas day or go overdue as far as January.
Everyone keeps hassling me and saying 'oooh might be Christmas' but I hate the idea of it.
Il just be happy they are here I just find family can get especially annoying around December births!
I don't feel too christmassy I don't know about anyone else 😁

I'm the same. This is no2. My first came on her due date so I was convinced that this one would be a week or two early.

All I can think of is how rubbish it would be to have your birthday on Christmas Day.

No party. No balloons. Everyone gets presents.

Everyone says I'm overthinking it but I'm really hoping now that nothing happens for another 3 or 4 days.

DD has also just turned 2 and has asked for a couple of things from santa. Didn't think she would really get the whole concept this year but she does and I'd be gutted to miss Christmas morning. I know we could just shift the whole day but can't do that every year.

I need to relax and stop moaning.

shakeatailfeather · 24/12/2017 13:50

I'm booked for an elective c section on 28th (but not edd til 8th jan).

I felt absolutely horrendous overnight and was convinced that I was going to have to go to the maternity unit and would be in all over Christmas - not what I hope for with 6 yo ds! Fortunately I am now feeling a bit more human and keeping everything crossed that I'll see the next few days out.

Good luck everyone

Lulublu · 24/12/2017 14:10

I’ve got a 21 month old and really want to spend tomorrow with him, but fortunately he doesn’t understand xmas yet.

ScotsLamb · 24/12/2017 14:35

Due date is today.
9 hours left of today and totally convinced nothing is happening.
Bit of tummy ache and bump is sore but I think that's because I've done too much today.

Hannabee123 · 24/12/2017 16:28

It's pretty intense having a December baby plus I haven't committed to any travel/ seeing family members that live far away.
I've heard hospitals are very understaffed on Christmas too which doesn't help anxiety 😶

My mum keeps telling me there will be no one to deliver the baby. Not sure this is actually true.

user1500124076 · 24/12/2017 16:34

I'm due the 26th, hoping for the 28th (for logistical/childcare reasons). Was desperate to get him out all last week but now I need christmas out of the way.

Rach000 · 24/12/2017 18:05

I am due on the 29th. Hoping it doesn't happen tomorrow. So far think I am Ok, did think I could have been early but not sure now. I have got a 2 year old dd so don't want to be in hospital tomorrow.
No signs yet but didn't have any with my little girl really, just started to have contractions one night which stopped in the morning for a few hours but then started again and she was born at tea time that day.

DappledThings · 24/12/2017 18:11

I was due tomorrow, she came yesterday

SilverLinings2014 · 24/12/2017 19:03

Due on 29th and booked for induction NYE if he hasn’t made an appearance by then...so that’ll get the party started Xmas Hmm

user1494270143 · 24/12/2017 19:06

I’m due 26th, currently being induced due to high blood pressure. It’s my 3rd day in hospital, currently waiting for my waters to be broken. Just waiting on a bed on the labour ward as it’s so busy... I’m Totally fed up!!!! Will all be worth it when babies here I’m just trying to stay positive!

Good luck to all you ladies due! Xx

ScotsLamb · 24/12/2017 21:03

@user1494270143 good luck with the induction! Does that mean a definite Christmas Day baby?
That's exciting for you!
Wishing you all the best.

user1494270143 · 24/12/2017 21:56

@scotslamb thank you v much! There’s still no beds available so it’s just a waiting game, potentially I could be having him tomorrow all depending on how busy they are. I’m next in line as it stands to go down though Smile so nervous and scared but excited!!! All the best to you too, hope baby doesn’t keep you waiting too much longer xx

Hannabee123 · 24/12/2017 22:02

I've been over to the in laws for dinner and it resulted in a panic attack. Everyone having a drink thinking it's a good idea telling me about horrific birth stories, tearing, not reaching hospital in time, giving birth at home with no one able to get to me. After announcing I was terrified.. but no.
Hope panic attacks won't affect her

Wishing all you expectant mums lots of luck during your labours and to the babies that are too comfy get a move on! Your mummies want to meet you Xmas Smile

EekThreek · 24/12/2017 23:41

Ahhhh, you lot are taking me back! DS turned 3 yesterday, and that Christmas was a complete blur - don't remember anything of Christmas Day itself which is a bit of a shame as I was obviously completely checked out for DD. But it's such a lovely time to have a newborn, I'm feeling really nostalgic now.

Hope you all get a restful day tomorrow. Good luck!

MadeForThis · 25/12/2017 06:42

Made it to Christmas morning. Still no sign of anything happening. Hopefully this means I can be here for presents. Missing dinner won't be the end of the world. Really hoping for a couple of days grace. 28th would be ideal.
