CMV?

I posted in chat recently about high nuchal back in first trimester. I'd known that CMV can be a cause, but drs haven't tested for it or parvovirus.

Is it because there's not a lot you can do if it is? I've just gotten around to worrying about it! Am seeing consultant in Jan so might ask her

All ultrasounds since have been normal (touch wood!) so hopefully was just "one of those things"...

Well Cytomegalovirus is a type of herpes but normally only causes problems in pregnancy if you catch it in pregnancy or have an active infection - not sure if having it already (as in being a carrier for any type of herpes) will affect you - thats a midwife or consultant question.

I would obviously let them know in january as they will want to monitor it as it can be passed (as you know) via body fluids and breast milk and there are treatments for it just no cure.

im sure everything will be fine, just mark it down as top question! :)

Thanks gryffen

No reason to think I've had an active infection in pregnancy (although equally I know it doesn't always have symptoms) except that I know it can be linked with high nuchal translucency

Worried they haven't tested for it but maybe it's because there's not a lot that can be done now? Might get tested privately in meantime

Hiya, I would defo ask about it as you probably do get screened for it at some stage or if you have concerns etc. ☺
