Rusty leaking battery - skin contact and inhaled

May be blowing this out of proportion but would appreciate and sensible advice.

Opened a wii remote that had been left for years and the batteries came out and leaked the rusty liquid on me. I could tell I inhaled it because of the strong metallic smell.

I washed my hands and have had no symptoms, but not sure if I need to seek medical advice now or just ask midwife in jan for my 28 week appointment.

If I wasn’t pregnant I wouldn’t even think twice about this, but should I?

No.

Don't think any more about it, you will be fine! Grin

If you're really worried phone 111 and they can get in contact with the national poisons hotline. I know being pregnant causes bonkers panic so it might make you feel better to have an expert look it up for you.

@pastabest love your username! Thank you - I stupidly looked it up online and it said “devastating effects for children and pregnant women”, but I’m assuming that’s if you submerge yourself in battery acid or properly inhale

It was a Panasonic zinc battery
