Anyone got any ideas what this is? Had it for over two weeks, dr says it's either an allergic reaction or scabies, well nobody in my house has this rash and we treated everyone anyway and it's still all over my body?

Oh and I'm 14weeks pregnant

Have they took bloods to check liver? Can't really see from your picture what rash looks like?

I had extreme itching from beginning of pregnancy and still have it 11 weeks postpartum. I think it's hormones for me as bloods to check liver was clear.

gryffen · 21/12/2017 19:29

Contact your doctor and request to get bloods done for liver check, Cholestatis? Can be a major issue and if you can't get appointment contact your EPU

annie8417 · 21/12/2017 19:31

Yes I've just had a 2nd blood test as I had high bile acids but they said it would cause itching but it doesn't have a rash so this is a separate thing apparently, tried piriton but it does nothing

Choleostasis does cause itching but my doctors didn't worry until on palms of hands and soles of feet.

annie8417 · 21/12/2017 20:02

Yea the Drs are saying the rash won't be because of the possible icp

It could be PUPPS (lots of gp's haven't heard of it). If it's PUPPS then it's harmless but incredibly irritating and you have my sympathy. I was covered in it and managed it with a combination of cool baths, E45 cream and small amounts of steroid cream.

It's worth printing off the info sheet and asking your GP if it might be PUPPS.

annie8417 · 21/12/2017 21:10

Thanks for the replies, I mentioned puppps to the dr but he just looked at me and said it's probably scabies and to treat for that but I know it's not, there's no scabs or track marks, just start out as flat coloured bumps that turn red cuz of the itching x it's driving me mad

Have you got it on your belly. PUPP classically appears in stretch marks.

annie8417 · 21/12/2017 21:57

Yes I have it on my belly but I'm only 14weeks and don't have any stretch marks yet, it started on the insides of my elbows and behind my knees, then my arms, feet and hands

Scabies not normally in joints, in between toes and fingers? are they not highly contagious as well?

Could it be hives?

frazzled3ds · 21/12/2017 22:03

When pregnant with my second child, I had a massive eczema outbreak, which looked very similar to the rash you've got. Docs had initially thought it was scabies, unsurprisingly treatment for that didn't work as it wasn't that! Ultimately I had a course of UV therapy which did wonders for it. Could be worth suggesting that as a possible diagnosis?

annie8417 · 21/12/2017 22:07

That's what I thought with the joints x I have a few of the white bumps on the tops of my hands and feet but not on the soles or palms or between the fingers.
I did the scabies cream treatment and it made no difference in fact the day after it got worse, I'm going to go back after xmas it's horrid , worst at night and keeps me awake x it feels prickly and intensely itchy, the rash comes up like a heat rash then doesn't go xx

I will try take a picture of my rash when I get up, mines comes out worse during the night, mines seems to be small bumps, I get them on head, hairline, jaw, neck, back, chest, stomach and hands. Normally husband will know where I'm itchy due to lumps.

I was given antihistamines and stuff to put in my bath to try.

I never suffered this before, only seems to have appeared with 3rd baby, 1st boy. Not sure if it's too much hormones for my body.

Hopefully it's goes for you.

annie8417 · 21/12/2017 22:44

Thank you so much xx arrrrghhhh want to rip my skin off

There is something called Pemphigus gestationis. Have a read of the symptoms and mention it to your GP if it sounds like it.

annie8417 · 23/12/2017 18:16

Thank you very much I will look into it x I had my repeat bloods results back for icp and they came back ok so it's not that

You may have more luck with your midwife than GP.

annie8417 · 23/12/2017 23:58

I will speak to her x I've got my 16wk check coming up in early jan x yes I flunked the gp very dismissive x just said it's probably an allergy, which it maybe but nothing I've used/eaten has changed

I had a rash when pregnant which was deemed to be eczema byy doctor. I found a bath each night with loads of emollient helped calm it for a few hours (get something intended for severe ezcema at the chemists).
It vanished immediately I gave birth.

annie8417 · 24/12/2017 04:00

Thank you, that gives me some hope, however I'm not sure I can't cope with this for another 26 weeks, I need sleep ☹️

I have eczema only when pregnant and that’s what it looks/feels like. I’ve got steroid cream, does the job.

annie8417 · 24/12/2017 08:21

Thank you x I'll look into that too , I just hope I can get it under control so I can sleep x I'm only getting about 3hours a night 😔 don't think I can cope with this for the next 26werks 😱
