Hello,

Anyone else on here at 2 a.m?

MutualWeirdness · 21/12/2017 02:28

Yep. Here I am.

MutualWeirdness · 21/12/2017 02:30

Nearly 28 weeks. No sleeping position is comfy, but I'm so tired. You?

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 02:52

Yeah, just can't sleep. I get to sleep OKish, but then wake up at 1 a.m.

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 02:54

Any idea what's keeping you up, MutualWeirdness?

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 02:55

Sorry for delayed reply- went to get food.

Me too. 24 weeks and knackered, but can't sleep. My DW's just got out of hospital, so I could really do with some rest. Feeling a bit sorry for myself! Hope you get some sleep soon - it's rotten, isn't it?

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 03:18

It's not the most fun I've ever had at 3 a.m., no. :-) Luckily, I don't have work tomorrow as we've broken up for Christmas. How about you? Hope everything is OK with your DW and that you get some sleep soon!

SanJunipero · 21/12/2017 03:24

I was going to work through until Friday but am now thinking sod it! Luckily I have a job that allows me to set my own hours to a large degree so I can get away with finishing a bit earlier for Christmas. DW's just rolled over in bed and taken most of the duvet with her, so I think my chances of getting back to sleep now are slim to none! Grin

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 03:29

I'd definitely pack it in now for Christmas, if I were you, unless you're one of the people who can function on zero sleep. I'll be worse than useless tomorrow! I've given up on sleep and come downstairs so as not to wake DH. Very boring though!

OP posts:
SanJunipero · 21/12/2017 03:36

I definitely can't function on zero sleep, although I suppose I'd better get used to it with a baby on the way! Is this your first?

MutualWeirdness · 21/12/2017 03:37

Thinking too much is probably keeping me awake. I've just come to get some toast.

SanJunipero · 21/12/2017 03:40

Ooo, toast sounds really good, actually. I'm eating so much at the moment!

Afterconkerseason · 21/12/2017 03:44

Hello! My 3 yr old woke me up and I can’t get back to sleep although exhausted! 35 weeks here. Starving now, may have to get a bowl of shreddies, insomnia sucks!

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 03:45

I've got tiger bread and butter. :) Yep, my first and only 14 weeks in thus far. Insomnia only really kicked in this last week, thankfully! You?

OP posts:
MutualWeirdness · 21/12/2017 03:46

It was such a good decision. I've also got a mug of dry Cheerios for pudding.

Packing it in from tomorrow sounds like it may be our only option! I would like to do two more things but technically can do them at any time over Christmas, I also have a 'make my own hours' sort of job.

When are you due?

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 03:46

Welcome, Afterconkerseason! Yes, insomnia is horrid. I feel like eating is definitely the way to go, can't sleep when I'm hungry.

OP posts:
CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 03:48

Due in June, so ages yet. When's everyone else? Could work it out from info offered thus far, but 3 a.m. + maths = Xmas Confused

Afterconkerseason · 21/12/2017 03:49

ThanksCrmbleBee! I was trying to cut back on my snacking but you’re right, impossible to sleep when hungry... just have to heave myself down to the kitchen now!

SanJunipero · 21/12/2017 03:50

This is our first - due in April. We're very excited as it took a little while for me to get pregnant. I was so sad last Christmas as I'd just had an ectopic pregnancy, so this feels like a little miracle. Unfortunately we found out that DW has cancer shortly after I fell pregnant so it's been a bit of a rollercoaster! I'm very much hoping for a quiet, restful Christmas.

SanJunipero · 21/12/2017 03:52

Afterconkerseason - I'm trying to cut back on snacking too. Can't believe how much I'm managing to eat at the moment. I ate two lunches last Friday Blush

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 03:54

So sorry to hear about your wife, SanJunipero! How's she doing? I hope you both get a relaxing Christmas, sounds like you've been through the emotional wringer in the last 12 months. Flowers

MutualWeirdness · 21/12/2017 03:55

I'm due in March, have been lucky to suffer fairly few symptoms so far, I hope this is just a bad night and not the start of insomnia. Plus it's so difficult to sleep on your side when you want to sleep on your back.

I urge you all to have a bit of toast! It was lovely and comforting Grin

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 03:57

MultualWeirdness- I've been trying to sleep on my side too, it's practically impossible. Don't think I technically need to yet, but thought I should get into the habit. Not easy. Anyone forked out for a pregnancy pillow thing?

Thanks Crmblebee. She's been doing well overall - she's very brave and doesn't like to complain. She's had a rough few days (hence the stay in hospital) but hopefully she's got a break from treatment until 2 January now.
