Hi, this is my third baby - I got my first positive on the clear blue weeks indicator on Sunday - it said 1-2 weeks. It’s now Wednesday and it’s syill saying 1-2 weeks.
I’m breastfeeding and it’s made it hard to track my ovulation down. I’m due on my period tomorrow but I’m super worried as to why the clear blue hadn’t progressed a bit. With both of my others the weeks indicator was spot on.

I’m also not feeling that pregnant, I feel a bit sick and my boobs are a bit sore. I’m also not that tired, I have been up since 3:30am stressing about miscarriage. I have really bad indigestion already and I have pain in my very lower back and bottom similar to sciatica.

I’m so worried - especially as I had a dream that the baby would shine bright like a diamond. I hope it’s not a sign we will lose it.

Any experiences and words of wisdom would be really appreciated xxx

Hi, don’t stress that’s not good job for you or baby. Maybe your hcg just hasn’t changed that much. These things are only digital bits of plastic, try not to test any more and book an appt with your gp if your worried. Remember every pregnancy is different I’m sure you’ll be fine. And congratulations.

Why would it progress by a week in 3 days?

With your period not even due yet, I wouldn’t expect more than 1-2 weeks on the test.

And actually, the hormone levels are very variable, especially the concentration in your urine so it isn’t exact science.

Those weeks indicator tests are notoriously unreliable. Pregnant/ not pregnant accuracy is fine but the number of weeks bit causes so much worry. They go up and down. I'm sure someone on here even said they are banned in some countries for this reason.

Best thing to do after a definite BFP is stop testing and as far as possible accept your early pregnancy and sadly the risks and go with it.

If you must retest (I must admit I did one) use good old First Response and watch the pink line getting darker as preg progresses.

Hi Jojosm2 - I guess what I meant to say but may have not been clear is- my periods are irregular and can go between 29/31 days. This is working in a 31 day cycle I start tomorrow. I have no idea when I ovulated as I’m breastfeeding and it’s made trying to track it all quite difficult.

Reading the clear blue site it says that you can test as early as 5 days before a missed period or 4 days before your period. With this logic in mind - I shouldn’t have had a positive on Sunday as that would have been 6 days before missed period or 5 deys before my period. So going from that logic I should have hit the 2-3 week window today.

I’m just worried, I’m a worrier and I’m reading into everything far too much. I’m trying to relax but find it hard. I just posted as I wanted to see if anyone had any issues with the week indicators before.

I get your worry (I'm currently 6 and a smidge weeks) and I've done too many clear blues and stupidly allow them to affect how I feel either way. I'm stepping away now (and having a early scan for other reasons)

They are a useful indication but they don't have the 'science' down pat. The only thing that reliably tell you if hcg is rising is a blood test. And right now you have no reason to believe it's anything other than fine.

It's so hard not to second guess everything but lots of people don't have many/any symptoms and they fluctuate through the day or week by week so don't bread anything into that.

Could you maybe try a guided meditation when you wake to help distract you? I know it's a scary time and its hard to relax

The '2-3 weeks' level needs to be 15x that of '1-2 weeks'. and the 3+ is over 200 times higher than '1-2 weeks'.

I'm pregnant though IVF/ICSI so know my dates down to the hour and the pregnancy has been going very well. Can't remember when I got 2-3 weeks but I remember that it wasn't 3+ on CB until I was almost 6 weeks. I remember working our that even in a super healthy pregnancy it could take up to 9 days to move up a week on CB.

These tests are a nightmare. OP, i had 3+ weeks at 18DPO one pregnancy and other women didn't get it until 6 weeks plus. It really does depend on the woman's hormone levels. Please don't use them as they cause a lot of agro. I think they have been pulled from the shelves in the US.....

Weebird87 · 20/12/2017 14:42

I just had a scan confirming me at 7 weeks. The clear blue had me at 2-3.

I had a bit of a rough start. They didn't know if my pregnancy was progressing and thought I was going to miscarry, I was very sore, cramping and bleeding but good strong heart beat last week. Thankfully pains have stopped.

I'm not going to tell you not to worry because that is impossible but ignore the clear blue and go the Dr. According to my dates I'm ten weeks but I can ovulate from day 13 to 39, so aren't reliable. My Dr asked early pregnancy to see me, they monitored me until they felt more confident. They won't be able to see anything until week 6 but they may be able to offer some advice and support. Don't be afraid to ask.

Hope all goes well and you'll be able to relax a bit.

Oh glad you have good news weebird!

I just moved onto the 2-3 yesterday so took a day or so longer than I thought - but must be a good sign! Fingers crossed!

Thanks for all your comments and advice xxx

Mine said 3+ at 4 weeks 3 days and the next day it was back to 2-3 lol. I’m 10 weeks and all is well. Don’t take much notice of those. If you truly want to see a change take first response. Mine got darker every few hours. It was very expansive but with two previous chemical pregnancies I was obsessed this time

Firstchild7 · 22/12/2017 09:57

I think u have to add weeks to the clear blue ones I got 2-3 but was 5 weeks

Eternalworrier · 29/12/2017 06:47

Hi all just a quick update, I moved into the 3+ category putting me at 5+ weeks on Wednesday. So it took less than a week to move into that category.
Fingers crossed this means things are going well!
I am worrying as this pregnancy feels very different from my other two - just hoping all is okay!
