35 weeks and going away for Christmas - should I take hospital stuff?

I'll be 35 weeks at Christmas and spending 4 days a few hours drive from home. Any advice on whether I should take a small hospital bag just in case?
Anyone else in the same boat?

I definitely would if you have the room for it. My daughter made an appearance at 36 weeks. Because my son came at 42 weeks I had nothing ready for the hospital and felt more panicky about that then giving birth. Definitely won't hurt to have it with you.

Yep.
And look online re local maternity hospitals. And get phone number.

Cause if you're fully prepared, you won't need to be.
But if you're not......

Yes take your bag.

RandomMess · 19/12/2017 22:05

If nothing else your notes and tens machine!!

I agree with dancingledge. Think of it as an insurance policy!

(And if you're driving, probably best to take the car seat just in case.)

BunsOfAnarchy · 19/12/2017 22:14

Yes! I'd keep it in the car on standby from now on. Have a brill hol xx

Yep - ds showed up at 35 weeks and I had NOTHING! Ended up sending dh home - he brought back a brewery-themed t-shirt and half a bikini (there was some other stuff too, but those are the items I remember).

I'll be taking a hospital bag with me this time even though I'll only be 32 weeks, along with the numbers of local EPU and maternity wards!

Thanks for the helpful replies. DD1 came at 42 weeks so I doubt I'll need it - would LOVE this one to come early though so I'm tempted to wing it and tempt fate Wink
Think I'll take a few basic things for me and the baby in case. Thanks for reminding me about the TENS too!

I would take a bag yeah. And I would look up how to get to the local maternity ward and their phone number.
