Anyone experienced heavy bleeding similar to their period then got a BFP?

Yes.

The result is currently dipping a half chewed pear in cold spaghetti Bolognese and throwing her sippy cup around the kitchen.

Can you get blood tests perhaps to confirm the pregnancy? Bleeds happen and I think can be fairly common but it's always worth making sure because you say the bleed was like your period. Unless I've read your post wrong you can get a positive pregnancy test for some time after a miscarriage also. I don't mean to frighten you, I have every hope that everything is ok, it just might be worth a check to be sure. I hope I haven't offended Flowers

Hormones can stay in your system and give bfp following early miscarriage so it is really hard to tell when you’ve had a big bleed. Early pregnancy is such a confusing time I think-my Mum was 4 months before she found out she was pregnant with me as she had period style bleeds every month and I had huge bleeds as I miscarried a twin so there are just two anecdotal examples of bleeding in pregnancy. Hope everything works out as you hope Flowers

Thank you both! Really hope I'm not miscarriaging! I'm going to retest tomorrow and also book in with the doctors. Really sorry pinkavocado that you had to experience that! Fingers crossed it's a sticky bean!! I'll keep you posted!😘

Fingers crossed. Hope my post didn’t worry you unnecessarily-I was trying to give examples of how bleeding can happen and a pregnancy still exist to balance out the possibility of miscarriage. Have you any pain? Good luck!

No it didn't, I appreciate your message thank you! And no not really only cramps, nausea and sickness! Thank you

I didn’t quite give the full picture before. The bleed I had was so like a period (heavy, lasted about a week) that I didn’t even bother taking a pregnancy test.

It was only a month later when I threw up on the day my next period was due that I took a test and got a BFP.

You can imagine my surprise when I went for a scan and they dated me 3.5 weeks ahead of where I thought I should be.

With my next pregnancy I again had a smaller bleed that lasted 2 days, but was still semi breastfeeding no1 and again it was only because we hadn’t been particularly careful that I tested then too just to make sure and got another BFP.

It’s probably just a case of wait and see at the moment I’m afraid, but it can happen. Good luck!

That's exactly what I've had, I'm not due for another 2 weeks but I had awful nausea and was throwing up last night that I thought I'm gonna test to rule it out, to my surprise it came back positive...I think🙈😁 I'm assuming the nausea and sickness is morning sickness but I'm suffering with it in the evening as again I'm really nauseous tonight!!

Thank you so much, I'm gonna retest again tomorrow and phone my GP as I've had problems with conceive etc and am under hospital observations

Do you have really long cycles? It makes it even harder to work out what’s going on o think!

Lauren1x · 19/12/2017 14:39

Yeah there so unpredictable, they range from anywhere between 37-70 days my last cycle was 63 days, I've been to the gp this morning got a blood test later and early scan Friday

I was exactly the same-I had to use opk sticks to work out when I ovulated as there seemed not to be much pattern!

Lauren1x · 19/12/2017 16:16

It's awful, I've been to the GP this morning and she referred me for an early scan on Friday and booked me an appt with the nurse this evening for blood works..really worried I've had a miscarriage of chemical pregnancy!
