Hi all - hope your all well?

Ok so I'm 6 weeks along in second pregnancy and have these weird twinges around my groin area. Now first pregnancy I was 50kg heavier and had no real symptoms but I'm guessing these are just natural twinges due to expansion etc.

No other symptoms and healthy so far, don't have appointment til 17th Jan and 12 week scan on 30th.

Trying to remember all these weird symptoms we get but coming up nada with me

I had lots of mild cramps and twinges in early pregnancy. It’s just your uterus expanding and adjusting to the sudden changes :)
If it becomes really painful or if you’re worried, call your local EPU xx

Hi lass

I have no idea who that is since we recently moved to a new doctor in Glasgow and our old one was under East ren. Will phone doctor tomorrow though and leave message, they are good that way for getting back to us. It's weird as I also have tiny nausea and weird nudges in area too, probably just losing my marbles but still happy!

Thanks for reply ;)

An EPU is an early pregnancy unit. Every hospital has one and usually you can call and refer yourself and they’ll do a reassurance scan, some EPU’s need a gp referral though xx

Hi MrsStobe
Yeah at my old doctor I could phone them up and speak to someone but my new one (had to change so toddler would actually get help!) It's totally dysfunctional and a mess. I have to call back tomorrow and speak to someone again when midwives are in and will get details then! ☺

Hope it goes well xx

Hi Gryffen - I have the number for the EPU at the Southern General (if that would be your hospital?). It’s 0141 201 2331 - hopefully this saves you some time trying to find it should you need it, I had it saved in my phone from my first trimester! Hope everything is ok.

Guinea you are a rockstar!

Yeah that's my new hospital as I have birth in RAH in 2014 and quite honestly don't know if I'm gonna request RAH transfer

How was your experience of the SGH?

Well, I’ve not given birth yet, but did have to go for an early scan and they were terrific. So reassuring, and very kind - I’ve had my dating scan there too and came away from it feeling like I was happy to have the baby there! I’d been considering the RAH because of the midwife led unit, but have really liked the staff at SGH so will likely just stay put. My friend had twins there last year, and seemed pretty positive about the experience - even though it’s a massive hospital, it felt like a supportive wee community within the mat unit

Hiya, I have out girl in RAH and loved them there, I was under consult led from infertility clinic via Dr Gemmel. I know there are horror stories from every hospital but my friend was one of the woman refused entry a year or so ago and she delivered in her car with complications - staff didn't gaf.

I see how it is on Thursday for scan and then decide for 17th.

Good luck with baby - when are you due?
