Crazy pregnancy dreams

I’m almost 18 weeks and my dreams are insane. They’re so vivid and active I don’t feel like I’ve slept properly. I’ve always been a vivid dreamer but these are off the scale. Last night I dreamt my husband murdered Someone and then went on an abusive rampage in our house ( where we lived with about 20 other people in my mans old house 🤔) and held us all hostage. He finally got arrested but two other people had died. However, dna tests showed it was a second killer. Then I woke up!

Anyone else have completely crazy dreams that feel like a movie?

Every night since I became pregnant! I feel like I'm getting the best sleep for years though so I'm making the most of it!

Ekphrasis · 17/12/2017 09:16

Mine are mostly very cosy and lovely though.

readysetcake · 17/12/2017 09:32

Wish mine were cosy. It’s exhausting to feel like you’re in an action movie every night.

I'm not pregnant but I am on very strong painkillers which cause me to have exactly these type of dreams. Honestly, I dread going to sleep some nights and know just what you mean about feeling like you haven't slept. Look up lucid dreaming, that might explain some of it.
And congratulations on your pregnancy Flowers

I had some awful dreams which mostly involved killing people I know. I shot my dad in the head a point blank range, stabbed my work colleagues and his their bodies in the office upstairs. I would wake up absolutely terrified. It did pass after a few weeks though.

Derekmorganwasinmybed · 17/12/2017 17:56

With both my dc I dreamt that a plane crashed into the houses opposite, had it a few times

Firstchild7 · 17/12/2017 19:10

I have very strange dreams around that point in my pregnancy, thats now I knew I was having a girl cos i kept dreaming she was a girl.

fannythrobbing · 17/12/2017 19:28

I've been having insane (and often disturbing!) dreams too. I'm 26 weeks and I'm shattered. I wake up convinced they're real for a few seconds/minutes I'm either up with my poorly toddler, dreaming wild dreams or wide awake with preggo insomnia Xmas Sad

babysunshine20 · 17/12/2017 20:30

This is me atm, having strange dreams most nights and I am just over 12 weeks xx

Firstaidnovice · 17/12/2017 20:33

I had vivid inappropriate sex dreams about colleagues most nights, which always made going to work interesting... And memorably a Matt Damon dream too. I have never found Matt Damon attractive.
Once I'd given birth the dreams became more disturbing, but tailed off after a few months.

HumphreyCobblers · 17/12/2017 20:37

I had many dreams where I suddenly remembered that I was supposed to be looking after a friends baby but that I had forgotten all about them and I now had no idea where the baby was. Once DH found me rummaging around in the boxes in the garage, looking for the baby.

It was totally grim.

Situp · 17/12/2017 20:37

I have been having them throughout this pregnancy. Terrifying ones where I wake up in a cold sweat and just horrible ones. I dreamed the other night that we found out my DF who I adored and who passed way in 2015 had been a serial killer. I often find them hard to shake off too and am often then awake in the small hours. Was doing the washing at 3am this morning!

fishybits · 17/12/2017 20:44

When I was pregnant with DD, I dreamt I had a torrid affair with Katie Price, most disturbing Confused

readysetcake · 17/12/2017 22:06

Oh situp that sounds horrible Sad I find that my dreams often stay with me all day. Just hate that they are 99% disturbing. Think I’d rather have just standard insomnia.
I had one sex dream which made a lovely change. But soon back to murder, car chases and loved ones dying Confused hoping it passes soon and doesn’t go on for the next 22-24 weeks.

Had a few car crash ones- waking up to car spinning.

My OH woke me from one but luckily now can't remember it now although could at time. And now recently its been sex dreams with Negan aka Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Mrstobe90 · 18/12/2017 07:14

My dreams have always been a bit mental but now they’re ridiculous lol. Write down the best ones, sell them to a movie company and make millions! Grin lol

pommie7 · 18/12/2017 09:12

Yep me too! Totally crazy dreams, did wonder what if it was a normal pregnancy thing so it obviously must be!

EastDulwichWife · 18/12/2017 10:54

Vivid sex dreams here too, often about horrible people. The worst was about Kevin Spacey when he was all over the news a few weeks back... Urgh.

BigBaboonBum · 18/12/2017 11:03

Had some awesome zombie dreams lately, killing zombies like a pro. Sex dreams are the most common right now... also had a couple where OH cheats on me and because it’s so lucid it’s hard to wake up and not be slightly pissy with him 🤔

Veggiehappy · 18/12/2017 13:40

Ive had some really vivid dreams too...had an awful one this morning that i was on a sinking ship with water swirling all around me..hope it's not a bad sign!! Had some really nice ones too though.

BouncyTigger85 · 18/12/2017 14:26

I've always had weird dreams, but the ones I have had while pregnant are so much more vivd and unfortunately they've all been terrible. One where I was brutally attacked and raped, another where I miscarried :(

Waitingonasmile · 18/12/2017 14:41

37 weeks tomorrow and the last few nights my dreams when I've actually slept have been so so vivid. I don't remember this with my first! It's quite scary sometimes.

Nomad86 · 18/12/2017 16:10

First pregnancy, I dreamt almost every night that my husband died. Various scenarios ranging from accidents to columbo style murders. I'd wake up and reassure myself that since I'm not living in ww2, it's unlikely that dh was shot down by the Germans. Only time his snoring has been a comfort!

Kittypillar · 18/12/2017 16:16

I've had these all the time, I feel your pain. A couple of weeks ago I dreamt that my husband had a secret family that he'd been hiding and I suddenly found out when they all arrived to visit me at the hospital when I was in labour! It felt so vivid it took me a good hour or so after waking up to stop being annoyed at him! Blush

I have a lavender sleep spray which my sister got for me and that seems to have helped a wee bit. It hasn't stopped the dreams as such but they don't feel as disorientating. It might be a bit of a placebo effect but still.
