Just after some advice.... I’m currently on the Mirena coil so being pg is unlikely but not unheard of, however I’ve been feeling not myself for the last couple of weeks and decided to take a test.
I’ve had two positive digital tests, another digital negative, and all the strip tests are negative. I’ve heard that false positives are really unlikely so what does this all mean??!!
Thanks in advance!

You're pregnant.

False positives are very rare.

Did you do the negative test after the positives?

Whichever is the most recent test is the result now.

(If you have a positive test then a negative it could be a chemical pregnancy where the sperm meets the egg but fails to implant properly so doesn't continue).

I did the positive first, then negative then positive then negative again! What a rollercoaster!

I think if I had a coil and a positive test, I'd go to a gp as soon as poss. Hope all is ok!

I should also have said that the strip tests tend to be less sensitive so I was talking about the digital tests really.

Luwo88 · 16/12/2017 15:02

Oh ok, latest digital test today was negative, yesterday’s was positive. Spending a fortune on tests!

I think you need to see your GP pretty urgently as you're at risk of an ectopic. Hope you're alright Thanks
