Facial, with a heated bed?!

Hi there,

I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant and yesterday I had a facial and the bed was heated below, but I kept the cover off me with my hands it didn't really occur to me until it started. Do you think that it's ok to have been on there, it was about 30 mins or so.
Thanks in advance Grin

What’s the problem? Are you worried about the heat from the bed? Were you too hot? If not, then not a problem. The facial shouldn’t involve some fancy gadgets, though, eg electric impulses from what I heard.

I'm just panicking as I shouldn't be overheated. My feet were freezing from the cold outside and the AC was on I could feel cold air. I didn't feel like I was sweating, and I kept the top half off my tummy area. I wasn't expecting a heated bed. I know you shouldn't have got baths, saunas etc so was more of a concern. Hmm

How hot was it? I have had these kinds of facials with Clarins and I would never have thought it hot enough to do anything to a baby even with all the covers on. It wasn't hot like a sauna or hot bath. I always had freezing feet too (not very nice!).

It will be absolutely fine, don't worry. It's warm to make you comfortable, not so hot that you're heart is racing and you are sweaty. I am pregnant and have an electric blanket as I can't get warm. It's no different! Your body would let you know by making you feel uncomfortable

I still use my electric blanket at night as I’m freezing! 31+2 and all fine here!

100% perfectly safe.

OP baths are also safe.
I had a conversation with my midwife about hot water bottles and she was bemused that so many women think that anything heated is harmful.

Only really need to avoid saunas, steam rooms & hot tubs (although even then, I know plenty of people who have used them prior to knowing they were pregnant and were completely fine).
