Movements

Been stressing since I got home from work about baby's movements... after lying on top of bed for an hour and a half and a large cold drink of water, she/he is finally kicking away like crazy 😍 what a relief, it's a constant worry I never know what "normal" is for me...

I do this! I freak out when I haven’t felt baby for a while, usually because I’ve had a really busy day and just haven’t noticed it. I did go to the maternity unit once and of course baby was kicking away merrily

I know I kept telling myself if i hadn't felt much come 8pm I was going to phone them.

What a relief now and can see baby moving about in belly too lol Just lying on my bed feeling the kicks and watching my stomach move in crazy ways, can't wait till he/she is here in my arms 😍

The movement thing drove me crazy because my LO never had a pattern. She was different every day. I was checked a couple of times at hospital. I'd just say never fee bad about going in. They were always lovely to me.

I know, i definitely would have went and got checked if I hadn't felt much by now... it's so stressful and no way to really keep track as it varies daily.

Think it's probably the same for most people. It's easy to not notice when you're busy then panic when it's quiet as you're not sure how long since you felt a movement.

Mine is usually quite active in the evening once I sit down. But it's not 100%.
Plenty of times I've had a panic and lay down to see if I could encourage movement.

I think the most important thing is that we are aware how important movement is. That it should never slow down because they run out of room towards the end. And if we are unsure at all to phone the midwife or labour ward who will arrange a scan and heartbeat check.

I did it once in my last pregnancy and they said they were glad every time someone checks because it means they can be sure the baby is ok.
