I’ve been so stressed lately about this pregnancy.
Last Friday my levels were 36. Had bloods done again yesterday (6 days later) and they were 844. I worked out that in 6 days doubling every 48 hours they should have been at least 280 after 6 days. Have bloods done tomorrow as well.
But is this a good sign that they have gone from 36 to 844?

To be honest, I don't think that hcg levels tell you any meaningful information.
Are you booked for an early scan? Do you have any other symptoms?

Tanyelx · 15/12/2017 13:56

@jimijack
Yeah I have symptoms but they have died down abit in the past few days. That’s why I’m worrying so much.
I have a scan on the 28th of this month.

Scan may or may not be the best way of getting information either way.
It's all so very frustrating and distressing isn't it.

Did you post the other day about an early scan? Apologies if I've got the wrong poster. If so it sounded like all the testing was just for reassurance rather than any indications that anything is wrong?

Try not to worry. Hcg has a wide range of normal. I know pregnancy after a loss is so hard but in the absence of severe pain or bright red blood, the overwhelming majority of pregnancies are ok.

What makes you so worried and why are you having hcg tests done?

This just isn't true. Betas that are doubling or more are absolutely a good sign - and betas that aren't going up enough are a fairly conclusive bad sign. Of course no one can tell you now whether this pregnancy is going to work out in the future (I'd guess from those numbers that you're in your fourth week?) but if they're rising normally then that means that the only information anyone can possibly give you right now is as good as it can be, ie there's nothing at all worrying right now.
