When will they screen you for strep B?

In what circumstances do you get screened for strep B? I suffer with lots of boils / abscesses etc down below and it's thought it's because I'm a carrier of a certain bacteria. Everyone in my family is prone to the same skin infections. Is that one of the reasons why they might screen?

My Midwife told me they don't screen for Strep B at all. You can pay for a private test (by post) for about £30

I had a swab done at the hospital

They will do it if there is a clinical reason to. Ask your midwife.

I had a group B strep by post privately, just do it yourself and share results with the midwife and consultant if CL

I'm in Aus and every pregnant woman gets tested in the last few weeks as a routine. I had mine done last week.
