Hi I had edd as 26th june but scab today gave me 7th July. My 1st day of last period was 20th Sept. Im pretty sure i had what i thought was implantation bleeding/ spotting on 4th Oct and I got my bfp 26th Oct. Could the scan dates be wrong? I'm clutching at straws because I've been soooooo sick and can't bare the thought of being I'll for even longer 😭 how pregnant would I have been when I got my bfp by their dates?

A scan at over 10 weeks is the most accurate way to date a pregnancy. If you aren't 100% sure of when you ovulated anything is possible. I know the feeling, though, I had an early scan which put me back 8 days. I was devastated as I felt stuck at 6 weeks pregnant and like I'd be feeling sick forever!!
At my 12 week scan I was put back to my original dates so it worked the opposite way for me and I was put forward!

Scan is probably more accurate I'm afraid but the sickness is just a phase and will pass. Good luck xxx

Hi op. I would go with scan date.
This time last year I had just had my 12 week scan but got put back to 10 weeks and ended up having to go back 2 weeks later.
Originally I had got around 28 June as an edd. (First day of last period 16 sept, got bfp 27th Oct, I do have slightly longer than normal cycles) But after 12 week scan they gave me a edd of 4th July. I kind of convinced myself that I was right for some reason and expected her to come end of June still, she arrived 13th July.

You got you positive at just before 4 weeks which is about right. Scan dates are far more accurate than last menstrual period.

And your due date has no bearing on when you'll actually give birth unless you know you'll have a cs or planned induction. Average pregnancies last 37-42 weeks.

With my last baby I reckoned my dd was 31/5 - my scan date was 14/6.

My baby turned up on 31/5.

Scans only need to be a tiny bit out to make a huge difference.

Good luck

Going by their dates you would have been coming up to 4 weeks pregnant when you got your bfp so it is possible. Also your scan pic doesn’t look a 12 week fetus so closer to their dates is probably right but they can still be a few days out.

OP, this is my scan pic from yesterday. I’m 12 weeks with an EDD of 26 June. I’m afraid that isn’t a 12-week foetus in your scan pic.

To echo PP, the sickness will pass, I promise!

I agree that doesn’t look like a 12 week foetus in the picture.
I’d go with the scan date.

I feel for you OP. I don't have a cycle as such so was sent for the 12-week scan based on period date. The scan showed I was only 8-weeks along. It was a surprise and I felt like the nausea would never end but it did. Scan was correct though and DS arrived happy and healthy at 40+0.

Good luck

The scan date is the most reliable as it measures development which is fairly accurate in early pregnancy. Also women can ovulate at different points in their cycle and fertilised eggs can implant at different times too. My LMP was the 16th Sept, I had my scan on Monday and I was brought forward 9 days so my due date is now the 14th June. I ovulate very early in my cycle, you may have ovulated late and implanted late. Morning sickness tends to be at it's worst from 8-10 weeks so you should start feeling better pretty soon.

Thanks ladies. Yes I now see that the scan pic does look younger so agree it's probably right going by their dates. Thanks for all your replies. It's my 4th baby and get sickness up to around 16 weeks so I was counting down day by day. Now it feels like it will last forever. I know it won't and will try to just enjoy the news that I have a healthy baby growing and not get hung up on it. I guess it's a busy time of year for the time to pass real quick anyway. My scan was 're booked for 12th Jan making me 14+1 so worried I'll be too far gone for the screening stuff but not much can be done about that. And I suppose at least the scan pic will be a bit more progressed by then!

Just to add OP that I recently had a scan which put my EDD forward from 10 July to 7 July, the same as yours. I got a very strong BFP on 3 November, a few days after my period would usually start - the two lines were equally dark and it came up in under 10 seconds - so I imagine I would have got a fainter positive several days earlier, and possibly a faint positive by 26 October when you got your BFP, again suggesting that your scan might well be right...
