I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Mustang thanks. Having a bad day for other reasons and feeling a bit shit about everything.
How is baby doing? And you?

Oooh hope thingy is swaggering over the threshold of the pink castle as we speak!

Natsku · 17/01/2018 15:55

Was just wondering about that facebook group Mustang can't remember at all. How's baby and you?

Mustang27 · 17/01/2018 15:56

Me too just, I just wish you were all at the 40 week Mark and labouring just to get away from the crap of hg.

Ah Just please don't be hard on yourself. I'd say something like run a bath or go a walk but Christ even that is too much most of the time. Hopefully whatever it is that's causing you grief will pass quickly.

Ah he is doing brilliant getting a wee bit more mummy orientated but still a wee cracker and slept a good 5hrs last night. No complaints.

Natsku · 17/01/2018 15:58

5 hours, that is good!!

justtheonethen · 17/01/2018 16:03

5 hours! I hope I get one like that! Bath is a good idea. I'm actually feeling ok sickness wise since the steroids which is amazing.

I have finished washing all the tiny baby clothes today and folded them beautifully Smile. The drawers will never again look so tidy Grin

Mustang27 · 17/01/2018 16:11

Xposted Nat sorry, yeah 5hrs I woke up with him and then realised the time I spent time googling ebf 2 week old going for longer than 3hrs without a feed turns out it happens. So different to mini 1 I still feel so weird about it lol.

Haha I should take a picture of my laundry control now. It really won't be but enjoy the cuteness of all the teeny clothes though.

How's things going with bump Nat are all your growth checks measuring up now?

Natsku · 17/01/2018 16:12

I love washing those baby clothes the first time (not so much the subsequent times, once they're covered in poo and vomit...) just so cute!!

OH took DD cross country skiing today, the furthest she's been before is 20 metres down the road but today she skiied 4km! I am super impressed with her and looking forward to next winter when I can ski too (and baby can be pulled along with a sledge)

Natsku · 17/01/2018 16:15

The doctor measured baby with the ultrasound and he's right on the 50th percentile line so perfectly fine (and everything looking healthy) so not worried any more about that.

justtheonethen · 17/01/2018 16:35

Go DD natsku! Thats awesome!

Ha ha, photo for posterity........cuuuute!

justtheonethen · 17/01/2018 16:36

Sorry nat I missed your second message. Great that you're not worried now Smile

Natsku · 17/01/2018 16:39

Oh so cute and organised!! Mine aren't so organised, just piled up on shelves in the cupboard in DD's room, roughly organised into different sizes.

Shehz21 · 17/01/2018 17:32

Waves frantically at all of you!Grin

justtheonethen The twimming situation between us is crazy lol! Well as far as I am concerned,I can relate to your post to Bad. I guess it may be because we actually have been at the other extreme spectrum of HG and even felt suicidal due to that. I for one do not agree that the psychology of health has an impact on response and recovery. My own mother being a geropsychologist wouldn't agree with you after having been in the hell of HG for 9 months with me, bless her poor woman!
But excellent advise about dealing with a gp. Hope all this advise helps the newcomers and even the veterans.

Natsku wow impressed by your DD! Next winter is going to be lovely with the new addition to your family. Just the image of babyboy Nat on a sleigh made me smile Smile

Mustang Aww lucky you with Mini 2! Such a good wee lil one.

Shehz21 · 17/01/2018 17:33

And I thought I was organised!

Shock justtheonethen !!

Badhominem Glad to have some advice which I will copy to quote in future as being from a doctor who was on the thread.
Natsku All that ski-ing sounds wonderful, with baby to be on a sledge!
Waves to justtheone Mustang and everyone.

Ah, and Shezand justtheonethen I am in awe of such orgnisation, combined with Hyperemesis.

justtheonethen · 17/01/2018 17:49

Thanks Lucinda Smile

Shehz yes I think you're right. I think I need to remember it's a scale, and we have been really unlucky to suffer badly all the way through.
All those lovely clothes SmileStar

Peachesandcream15 · 17/01/2018 17:59

Hi all!

Good luck to all those due soon ( or overdue!). You are on the finishing straight!

Badhominem - thank you for some good advice. I really get the being active and taking your mind off it.

Natsku -cross country skiing sounds amazing.so jealous! I miss downhill skiing so much. I cant wait to teach my DD( and new baby!).

I'm still in the mild nausea camp. Gp appt on Monday, just hoping I can stay as I am until then. still only 5 weeks.

Natsku · 17/01/2018 18:04

We're very lucky as we live right next to a cross country ski track (literally just two minute walk up the road). Downhill scares me too much so I stick to cross country (I enjoy snowboarding though - quite tempted to get a board for DD but they're expensive)

Fingers crossed for you peaches that you stay in the mild nausea camp.

Peachesandcream15 · 17/01/2018 18:19

Yes staying at mild nausea would be lovely. Heck, I've even been trying ginger! 😂

Shehz21 · 17/01/2018 18:23

justtheonethen
Btw do you have a birth plan already?? MW told me I would have to discuss mine with her at my 34w appointment so something to look forward to!

Lucinda Oh thank you, I was more of a helper to DH. He deserves the acclaim. Smile

Peaches Hope you stay in the mild nausea camp. I do remember that at 5 weeks nausea had just only started for me at that point. Very much bearable until the shitstorm hit hard at 7 weeks.

MisstoMrs · 17/01/2018 18:24

Hey everyone! Had HG with my DS and still contemplating whether I / we can face it a second time...except now my period is late. Did everyone else get a particular weird taste with their HG...? I’m probably being paranoid (PG wouldn’t be planned but would be nice news) but I’ve been feeling sick and I have that taste...

Shehz21 · 17/01/2018 18:34

MisstoMrs I had an awful metallic taste during my entire first trimester and I have it again since I hit 30 weeks! Horrible Envy

LucindaE · 17/01/2018 18:56

Welcome MisstoMrs. Perhaps we will be welcoming you onto this thread. I hope it turns out as you wish. As a veteran, you won't need my talk of kesostix and flat full sugar coke and ice lollies. What meds helped you last time? Pre-emptive meds are thought most effective. I remember that awful taste too - I used to suck barley sugar for it, but that produced more saliva.

MisstoMrs · 17/01/2018 19:26

Thanks for replying ladies. I’ll leave it a day or two and then take a test if my period hasn’t made an appearance 😬

Drugs-wise, I was on procloperazine, metrochlophramide and ondanseteon, plus movicol to manage the ondansetron as I had fecal impaction. The consultant said to start on them as soon as I got the blue line. There’s no HG clinic near here (nearest is 50miles) so getting drip treatment is really tough. Massive hats off to all of you. HG is just hideous!

OrangeCloud18 · 17/01/2018 19:32

Shehz and just My baby clothes are just piled up on a shelf! Not looking as tidy as yours! My mum is coming for a few days tomorrow though and I have a feeling she might tidy everything haha

I only managed half of my pasta at lunch and barely ate anything else until diner... I ate loads yesterday though Grin
