Am 16 weeks pregnant.

For past 2 weeks every morning I have very bad diarrhoea.

Apart from that I feel physically fine. GP said not to worry.

But am worried.

Worried this could be listeria or some infection that will harm or kill my baby.

I thought women were supposed to be constipated in pregnancy, not the other way round.

Any advice?

Diarrhoea is common too. The hormones can take you either way.

If you had an infection you would know. Relax.

I had diarrhoea all the way through my pregnancy instead of morning sickness! No one mentions this delightful side of being pregnant do they?!

My body was alternating between constipated and loose stools in my first trimester on a daily basis so it does sound quite common, either way.

But if you are still worried speak to your GP about possibly testing for an infection?

I’m 17 weeks and had it at 16 weeks, I think on two different days. My body seems to do it for seemingly no reason when I’m pregnant... one of the wonderful, graceful things we go through as lovely glowing pregnant ladies! 🤔 lol
