Hi,
Was just looking for a little advice. This is my first pregnancy and it's still early and so I don't really wanna ask anyone irl just yet.

I've just had a GP appointment as I didn't know if I could go straight to the midwife or if I needed to be referred. He told me all the things I expected ie, no smoking, folic acid etc. And told me to make an appointment with the midwife for 8 weeks. But, when i first went in he asked me how far along I thought I was and I said 6 weeks from my last period. But he wanted to know from conception. When I ring the midwife for an appointment, do I ring for 8 weeks from conception or 8 weeks from last period?

Should have asked while I was in there but didn't think till I was driving home.

You definitely date from the day your last period started to begin with. At your 12 week scan, you’ll be given a date (probably a different one) and this is what you will use for the rest of your pregnancy.

I hope everything goes well.

Book with your midwife for 8 weeks from your last period. That's when my midwife wanted to see me for the first appointment.

It should be from your last period. Your dates will change at your 12 week scan. They really just need a rough estimate for now. Your GP should not be dating you from conception though, no one really does that (but most GPs know nothing about pregnancy).
