1 in 80 risk last time - would I have a higher risk of Down's in a 2nd pregnancy?

My gorgeous baby boy is now 9 months, and I'm starting to think about trying for another later this year. However, after I had the blood tests in my last pregnancy, I was told there was a 1 in 80 chance that he might have Down's Syndrome, and I was advised to have the CVS test. Thankfully, he was given the all clear, but can anyone tell me if this means I might be considered to be at a higher than normal risk of having a Down's Syndrome baby if I became pregnant again? I was 32 when I was pregnant before, and I'm 34 now.

yes, your age related risk would be higher , as you are now older
but that's your paper risk withouth having any of the bloods or scans done. every chance that it would be lower risk of course

i think its hard, someone i know had no problems with 1st and second one was only 13m younger but she had high risk, she is gone thru cvs, luckily it was all clear. it was quite shock for her. so it may not happen to you next time. you got to check ds support websites probably will find out more.
sorry no help
but all my best wishes.

just based on your age it would be higher as per the general population - in terms of your age related chances.

i have a dd with down syndrome and so my chance was higher on 2 counts with my subsequent pregnancies - on paper that is. i did not have a nuchal translucency screen with dd2 but did with dd3. my chance on paper prior to the test was 1 in 52 - taking age and history into account. after measuring nuchal fold and bloods - chance 1 in 962! I was 37 turning 38 at the time. fwiw - we knew dd1 would have down syndrome before she was born.

so if you need to know for certain - it would have to be a cvs or amnio again.
