Hi
Sorry to keep bothering everyone with worries but as I am nearing my due date (5th May) I am becoming increasingly anxious about EVERYTHING!!
At 34 weeks my midwife told me that the baby's head had started to engage and was at a '4/5' position then at 37 weeks she was at a '3/5' position which was fine.
Anyway I had an appointment yesterday with a different midwife who put in my notes that the position is now back to '4/5'. I'm 38 weeks today. She said that the head won't properly engage until labour.
Does anyone know whether it is normal for the position to alter like this?? I thought that if anything the position should be going the other way ie to 2/5?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

This is normal, it could still move out of your pelvis if it hasn't engaged fully, which happens at 0/5 after that I think they start at -1 etc. Don't worry about it, they will examine you when you start contractions and will scan if there is any concern that baby hasn't engaged, my ds had such a bony bottom even the consultant was convinced he was breech until they scanned me.

Thanks for that - I thought I was probably worrying over nothing. I'm only happy when I've fretting over something!!
