Pregnancy after ectopic pregnancy

Hi
First time contributor, long time reader...
:-)

Unfortunately we had an ectopic pregnancy at the start of September at 4 weeks ish, with one of my tubes being removed. It took us 7 years to get to this point, so disappointed was an understatement. We were told not to try for 3 period cycles, but after the 2 The contraceptive became non existent.

I have done 3 tests which indicate pregnancy, but I am terrified. My reckoning is that I could be 5 weeks. I know I have to get referred to a early pregnancy unit but with the traumatic experience I had a few months ago, I don’t want to go through the same again.

And to top it off I now fall into the geriatric mother category....

Thanks
Katie

Please, go get an early scan at the EPU. You may get fantastic news (like I did, twice post ectopic pregnancy and tube removal) that the pregnancy is in the right place. It doesnt remove all stress of a oregnancy, but does remove a big stress.
Fingers crossed for you

Please ring your local EPU for a scan to confirm the pregnancy is in the right place, they should treat you very well given your history. Good luck!

Thanks guys.
I know what I need to do, but I really don’t want to go through the heartache again.

We had started to come to terms with infertility and investigation of the adoption route, so we are all over the place mentally.
