Anyone else got a cold in their first trimester? I'm 11 weeks and I feel rotten :( I've had flu jab, will this cold effect my baby?

Not in my first trimester (now in 3rd) but I did have a cold when I was. It's tough as you can only really take paracetamol so you have to just ride it out.

The cold won't affect your baby, don't worry.

Thank you that's a relief 😌
I feel so horrible, I've had toothache the last few days, with my normal morning sickness, tiredness and constipation. Then having this cold on top, I've surprised I got out of bed this morning :(

A cold will not affect your baby. Everyone gets colds.

Me too (I'm 8 weeks), it's shit, isn't it?! The pharmacist told me the only cold remedy I could have was nasal decongestant spray - which did help a bit, but also made my nose a bit sore after a couple of days. The annoyingly thing is this is actually quite a mild cold - the sort where normally you'd have a lemsip and feel right as rain, but right now I'm stuck with it!

Hey I've had a couple of colds during my pregnancy. It makes you feel awful 😣
Best advice I can give is:
plenty of water to help shift mucus
Hot lemon water (I used real cut up lemons some people say add honey or ginger to feel more benefit) This surprisingly did help alot. Just create your own Lemsip without all the medicine in it.
Paracetomol!! And time it so that you can get some down you before bed.
Keep warm and just hope it goes fast!

I totally feel you. Colds are terrible! I am past 6 months now but just got well from a cold and it was awful. Inhaling some vicks was quite helpful to get rid of the blocked nose but paracetamol helps for pain relief. I take vit C now to try to prevent getting colds again.

I've had one for about 2 weeks now and it's driving me mad! Sorry to hear you're feeling rough op.
Regarding constipation what seriously helped me previously and this time round is Ella's kitchen prune baby food. It's so easy to shove in a smoothie or mix with yoghurt. I found it way more effective than anything else. Hope you feel better! Smile
