Heyyyyy :) so looking for advice as my heads a shed lol . I’m due 31st may 2018 my lmp was 14th August can someone help me figure out when I conceived please . Tia

Hi, did you have a regular consistent period? Eg 28 day cycle every month. You usually ovulate about 14 days before your period, but if you had irregular periods you could’ve ovulated early or late.

If so you probably conceived around 28th August.

Hi no I don’t really have regular periods but if I’m 15 week today and my last period was 14th August that would mean I ovulated in the 25th day of my cycle anyway which would be late

Would it have been possible to conceive late September or would that mean I wouldn’t be 15 weeks today ?

Have you had your dating scan? If so you are likely to have conceived about two weeks after day 0 by the dating scan, though it’s not an exact science

Hi yeah it’s my dating scan that works me out at 15 weeks today

If you are 15 weeks today you may have conceived around 7th September

So late September wouldn’t really have been possible ? I did have intercourse on the 8th September?

Its really hard to know unless 1) your periods are very regular, 2) you were tracking your ovulation hormones 3)you only had sex once perhaps.

They date from your last period and then confirm this date from your scan. By lmp dates you would be 16wks right? But dating scan says 15 weeks. So you could assume you ovulated later than the usual 14 days estimate. Perhaps around day 21; so perhaps the first week in September is the closest estimate.

This is all totally guess work though. And if there is a question over who you conceived with (just assuming thats why the confusion?) then no one here can give you the answer I'm afraid.

If you’d conceived late September, you wouldn’t be 15 weeks today. Going by scan dates, you ovulated/conceived around 7 September.

If you had conceived late September it would be obvious on a scan that you’re not 15 weeks today. The dating scan can be out by a few days, but not by 2+ weeks.

I’m also assuming from your posts that you’re uncertain who you conceived with. It’s very likely to be with the person you had intercourse with on the 8th September, but without a paternity test no one can give a definite answer.

Lmp would put me at 16+3 and the dating scan puts me at 15 exactly today so wouldn’t I have conceived 13 weeks ago because that would mean I would have ovulated around day 25 of cycle so later than the normal 14 day

Yes that's about right regarding 13 weeks ago... you can also get pregnant a few days either side of actually ovulating AND sperm can live for up to 72hrs in the body... so again very much guess work. But if 8th Sept was the only time you had sex other than end of Sept it's highly likely that was the one..

14 days is just a rough guess - your mileage may vary. It’s clearly likely that you did ovulate later, maybe that’s normal for you. None of us can tell you for certain though

Yes, you’d have conceived around 13 weeks age. I.e. 7th September. You only ovulate on day 14 of your cycle if you have a 28 day cycle. Expected ovulation for people with a regular cycle is 14 days before their period is due, so day 7 of a 21 day cycle and day 21 of a 35 day cycle etc. If your periods are irregular it’s difficult/impossible to predict from your LMP when you ovulated, but the dating by scan is far more accurate than your LMP.

I am due 31/05 too and I know I conceived on either the 5th or 6th is September. So I’d guess the 8th is v possible for you!
