Anyone else on predisolone?

Am 39 years old and had 4 chemical pregnancies (5 weeks).

Am now 14 weeks pregnant via IVF.

Diagnosed with borderline slightly underactive thyroid (on levothyroxine) and antiphospholipid syndrome (on heparin and aspirin).

I have been on a low dose of predisolone (10mg) since day of transfer. The hospital wants me to go down to 5mg of predisolone for 1 weeks and then stop completely.

I’m nervous about stopping predisolone because its the only thing I did differently for this pregnancy which is working!

Anyone else out there on predisolone?

What mg were you on?

When did you stop taking it?

Any advice?

Also ivf preg and 14 weeks here. Prednisolone was one of my drugs, finished a couple of weeks ago from 15mg to 10mg to 5 then 0 over a couple weeks.

I'm due to finish clexane (but start asprin) and finish Urtogesten (progesterone)in the next couple of days. I'm so worried about both, that they might be the only reason I got this far.

So no advice here, just a little hand holding.

@user1470147116 there's a thread on the conception board called immunes/NK cells aka the pred thread - it's for those on prednisolone and other similar treatments - you should join!

After 3 early losses I took it from ovulation and conceived second cycle, now 22 weeks with a healthy baby (my first). Lots of successes on the thread. Good luck!

PS I was on 25mcg from ovulation until 12 weeks, then I tapered off it gradually. Also have hypothyroidism (longstanding - diagnosed age 26) as was on progesterone too.

Hello and congratulations on your ongoing pregnancy. I’m 10 weeks and have been taking 20mg of prednisolone in the mornings since 6 weeks. From tomorrow I start tapering down to 10mg for a week and then do 5mg for the following week before stopping at the end of week 12.

As I understand it, you can’t keep taking pred in the second trimester because it interferes with development. You must taper down though or your body will get withdrawal symptoms.
