Hi
Anyone had nose bleeds in pregnancy??

Can honestly say I've never had a nose bleed in my life but all of a sudden at 16 weeks pregnant I have one!! Confused

When reading up on them it says pinch your nose for 20 mins!Shock to let the blood clot after 10 mins can still feel the blood dripping.
Anyone experienced this if so any tips? Thanks x

Hi OP,
I never had a nose bleed prior to my current pregnancy ( #2) but it's very common apparently. I also regularly wake up with blood in my nose from during the night. You don't need to hold your nose for 20 mins, just lean forward holding it until it stops. If they are really bad or feel you are losing a lot of blood maybe go see your gp, but mine only ever lasted about 30 seconds. It's all to
Do with more blood circulating during pregnancy or so I'm told.
Hope that helps.

Yeah I've had a couple. It's quite disturbing!

Yes with both of mine!
At one point (when my blood pressure was high) it was like my nose had burst, just couldn't get it to stop. Not nice!
I did pinch mine but not for 20 mins, and just let go a tiny bit to make sure it had fully stopped. X

Thanks ladies.
Very disturbing! I was in bed and just about to close my eyes when felt what I thought was a clear snot up my nose sniffed it back up but then went to get a tissue and seen loads of blood! Shock

It has seemed to have calmed down but scared to sniff up,
I can feel it at the back of my throat a bit not sure if drinking water will help flush it away.

I hope it stops soon!! Super tired and got to be up at 5.45 for work. My early night went out the window! Hmm
