Ladies with belly button peircings?!

I kept my piercing in (albeit a maternity bar one) until 29 weeks pregnant. I’ve now taken it out as felt it was stretching the skin way more than it needed to when it was already getting stretched. Mine now appears a bit red at the top and bottom hole. An although it’s been out couple of weeks, still hasnt faded down. Thinking it’s maybe because it’s so stretched.

What has everyone else does with theirs? Taken it out, left it in?

Has anyone given birth an it been really stretched and does it go back to looking normal ish?

My belly button has also popped 🙈 concerned my peircing and belly button will be a right mess after

I got a sort of plastic bendy long bar to keep in when pregnant.

I'm 29+3 and my belly button is so itchy and sore with the shitty maternity bar in! I can't bring myself to take it out, I suffered too much at 14 to have it put in 😂

Wispygypsy · 28/11/2017 23:22

Took mine out during first pregnancy and never got it back in again :-(

Has anyone managed to last with a maternity bar for the full pregnancy? I would prefer to keep mine pierced as I know if it closes over, I'll not prioritise getting it done again

Same as Beano. I went to a piercing place and had my metal one taken out and a plastic long bar with two small balls either end put in. Belly button popped out but didn't rub and once DD arrived I went a few weeks later and had original one out back in. Could have done it myself but for the sake of a fiver I preferred a professional to do it.

I had the standard metal bar throughout my pregnancy as i had a small bump? luckily my skin never stretched and i didn’t have any problems.

I took mine out over ten years ago. 36 weeks now and throughout the whole pregnancy the hole has been inflamed and itchy. It is one big red mark on my belly and keeps getting bigger and redder.
Got my belly button pierced at 13. This was one teenage rebellion that came to bite me back in the arse.

Thattwatoverthere · 28/11/2017 23:38

I took mine out at the 20 week scan and never got round to putting it back in again. It's now very stretched and I can't imagine it'll ever go back in. Gets quite sore sometimes too!

Hannabee123 · 28/11/2017 23:50

Took mine out around 27 weeks now 36 and it's all a stretched red skid mark on my stomach 😂 it looks awful. I will attempt to put it back in after but I don't know if it's ruined now.

stopbeingadramallama · 29/11/2017 00:36

I took mine out when I started to get a bump and it became itchy and a bit painful.
I can still get a piercing though the whole but wouldn't keep one in.

Hole*

bettydraper31 · 29/11/2017 07:47

I took mine out as soon as I found out over two years ago. I tried putting it back in but the amount of times their little feet clamber all over you it was just too difficult, it would have got ripped out x

Anna2006 · 29/11/2017 08:07

Thanks everyone. There was no way I could keep mine in any longer as the skin was so thin and stretched out the maternity bar was making it worse I think. I’ve been popping my back in every other day to limit the hole closing an no issues with it going back in so far. As I think after that bit of skin will look such a mess it will be better with a belly bar in to hide it almost thenwithout 🙈🙈

I guess only gonna known if it will look remotely normal few weeks after having baby. Seems quite common for it to get red and irritated as it stretches

I've had mine done for 7+ years I think
It didn't hurt it just looked horrible like if I left the bar in it would just reject outwards.
I'l just try and put it back in when it's all done and dusted. I guess you could always get it re pierced for around 20 quid but it won't be such a massive deal I guess if I can't fit mine in.
It weirdly made me feel better about my stomach looking like crap though 😂
