Leaky boobs and milk production

Just curious, if your boobs leak during pregnancy does that mean there shouldn't be any problem with milk production after the birth? Or have some of you still struggled to produce milk or had to wait a good few days for it to come in despite leaking when pregnant?

Leaking really says absolutely nothing, either positive or negative, about how you will find breastfeeding. It just says there is some colostrum in there and a bit has come out. Some people leak, some people don't, there is no rhyme or reason to it, and everyone has colostrum in their breasts in late pregnancy.

Mine never leaked or changed size, fed my son until he was over 2. Doesn't have any bearing on milk production.

Colostrum from week 25 of pregnancy. Bf nearly killed me with the recurring infections and had to stop at 6 weeks Sad

Milk always takes a few days to come in as it’s the post-birth hormones that trigger it, but you’ll be producing colostrum from now.

Whether that means your supply is good is very much dependent on lots of factors, like your health postnatally and baby’s latch. I’ve always had loads of colostrum (started leaking around 22 weeks with my first and just before 20 weeks this time). But my supply wasn’t great with my dd due to anaemia and her poor latch. But certainly it’s not a bad thing.
