Just been to midwife and baby has turned after being head down for weeks. So he's now breech. Going back too see midwife next week too see if baby has turned. If not she's referring me for a scan and I may need a caesarean. I was just looking to hear of peoples experiences of breech babies

I had a vaginal breech delivery with my DD who is now 3. Didnt know she was that way until I was already 5cm dilated! Everyone had always thought head down.
The birth wasn't straightforward and she got stuck, But came out ok in the end and is a happy and healthy little girl.
Currently 39+5 and discovered that this baby was breech at 35 weeks. I had a presentation scan at 37 weeks and he had turned (Thank god!)
During the 2 week wait I did everthing I could think of to get him to turn as i didn't want a section and wasn't keen on another vaginal breech delivery.
Have a look at the spinning babies website and try some of the exercises on there.
I did the breech tilt on my ironing board and laid in a warm bath with a bag of frozen peas on my bump lol.
If you do have to go for a section, it's not the end of the earth, as long as baby arrives safely.
Hopefully your LO will turn for you x Flowers

Thank you so much for your reply. Just didn't expect that today, I'm 36 weeks 2 days. Glad your baby had turned for you! lol I will try the bath thing and also look at those exercises 😊 I said to the midwife I would rather not have a caesarean but if it's the safest way for him to arrive then that's the way it will be! His Safety first! Thank you, me too

Found out i was breach at 36 weeks with DS2. Tired ECV 3 times, didn't work and the pain was worse than full labour with DS1!!!!

I tired acupuncture and lying upside down but nothing worked, my bump was massive and there was enough room.

had c-section at 39 weeks and it was fine, recovery was actually better then with normal birth.

I do think that recovery from any birth all depends on your personal circumstances and how well you heel generally. I've heard horror stories with emergency c-sections and equally bad normal labour

What will be will be and most important thing is the safest delivery method for your baby

Hi OP my baby also turned at 36 weeks, 2 failed ECVs and I attempted a natural breech birth but she got stuck. Ended up as an EMCS but she got out safely and I enjoyed the parts of labour I experienced so I wouldn't change my decision. I have to say a planned section would have been less stressful but I wanted to experience my waters breaking, contractions, etc as she is my first. She is now happy and healthy at 12 weeks today!

My baby was breach all the way through. I had an elective booked for 39 weeks but went in to labour 37+2. I laboured quickly and had emergancy c section. Recovery was fine, out in just under 48 hours I was up and moving around after 12.
