I've had piles from my first pregnancy, now later on in my second they are very sore and swollen. I have the midwife tomorrow, I'm hoping she can give me something to help so bloody uncomfortable!!

Oh no you poor thing. I've had a rough time with them in the past so I know how uncomfortable you must be. I found sudacrem helped, it kinda dries them out? Or witch hazel hemmoroid (sp?) wipes I bought from Amazon in a white tub xx

I use sheriproct cream or preparation H cream. Avoid sitting. You could use an inflatable O Ring Cushion to ease the pressure. I lie on my left side on the sofa and try to avoid sleeping on my back.
The usual advice is drink plenty of water, eat high fibre foods, eat fruit and veg and avoid constipation and very hot baths. You can use a cold pack but it is uncomfortable.

Had horrific piles at approx 37 weeks and then got them again just after giving birth. I found that Lavender oil in the bath - sorts them out in no time. Mix with a bit of milk before adding to the water as this means it will be absorbed in the water instead of lying on top of the water. I always also advised to sprinkle a few drops on a maternity pad after giving birth for my stitches- it numbs the area a bit

Anusol has been a life saver in the past

Totally with you on this @Expectingbsbunumber2
They are bloody awful I suffered bad with them in my first pregnancy right up until and after I had my daughter.
Touch wood they haven't been too bad this time round but I'm only 16 weeks so got a long way to go yet.

Like a lot of the ladies have said diet is a must plenty of water and high fiber foods. Altho the best one I got from here was kiwi fruit. A few on them work a treat for constipated. Sorry tmi🙈.

I got given sheriproct cream too and found this really good but not sure how long you can use it for so just check before you use it.
Good luck xx

Anusol, Preparation H, both not bad.
A good one, the best, was Proctesydol (sp?). But I think it's maybe prescription only. If so it's worth asking Dr for it. It def was the best.

Thanks for all the replies ladies! Will deffo give all these a try, hopefully the midwife can prescribe me something. Doesn't help I have a 1 and a half train journey today! 🙈
