4 weeks pregnant and spotting for 6 days!

Hi All,

I found out this weekend I am pregnant with #1 (will be 4 weeks) ! Over the moon as we have been trying for a long time and after our first round on Clomid have been successful!

However, for the past 6 days I have been spotting brownish discharge (it’s veru light, not enough to wear a pad) and has been on and off. If this normal?

I am becoming increasingly worried about misscarrying and really don’t know what to expect.

Any advice or shared experiences you have would be appreciated

Thank you !!

Congratulations OP!
I just had my BFP last week. By my calculations, I should be about 5 weeks pregnant. One of my symptoms before testing was brown spotting which I now believe was implantation bleeding about nine days after ovulation.
When you say you're 4 weeks pregnant, do you mean it's 4 weeks since your last period? If so, I wonder whether your spotting is just IB too?
At this point, it's too early for scans or anything like that, but hopefully it's nothing to worry about. As long as it's not heavy or bright red in colour, I think you're ok. Good luck!

Thank you glitterandunicorns and congratulations on your BFP!
Yes, it’s 4 weeks since my last period. I did think it could be IB, as it very light spotting and always brown in colour. It started 8/9 dpo and has been off and on since. I was just concerned it’s been going on for nearly a week now (although it is starting to get even lighter/almost go).

Sounds like IB to me - I had the same (and then had bleeding again at 6+3 and again at 8+4 - am 31+5 now!). Keep an eye on it and call your GP if it turns redder or if you have any cramping / pain in your shoulder. Congratulations on your BFP!

Thank you for the response peachgreen! And congratulations to you, not long now!
That makes me feel a lot calmer knowing it’s not just me who has had this and how far along you are now!
I will keep an eye out for it going red. Fingers crossed there has been very minimal sign of it today (only once when wiping this morning and nothing since!)!xxx

Firstly I just wanted to say Congratulations!! Thanks

An secondly I had brown discharge with both of my pregnancies (my boys are now 5 and 2) mine was from bruising in my uterus caused from when the eggs implanted. The brown lasted quite a while til up to about 16 I think but it was intermittent and by my 20 week scan the bruising had disappeared.

Hope it calms down soon for you, if at any time it worries you or gets worse please go to the GP and they will most probably send you for an early scan. X

Thank you so much BluelstheNewBlue! This has really reassured me!
I haven’t had any today and yesterday (day 7 of spotting) was V V slight almost nothing. I’m going to monitor and I have my first midwife appointment in 2 weeks so will mention it then. However if it returns I will contact the GP! X
