Is this nesting??

I'm 23+3 and everything in the house is driving me potty. I live with my mum (saving to buy first property) and she isn't the MOST tidy and clean person ever but we are by no means Scruffs.

But I found myself steaming the kitchen cupboard doors at 9am this morning. I've recently moved into the bigger room and it's making me feel ill that the White furniture I have bought is more cream and doesn't match the colour we have painted the walls. I want to completely re decorate.

I'm actually contemplating spending 150 quid on a "deep clean" as I keep noticing the skirting boards and pictures rails and cupboards have dirt on them, and I'm too tired to clean it all even though I'd love to.

I never normally care too much about stuff like this but it's driving me insane. My mum has chronic back pain so can't do much herself. This is my first ever pregnancy, but I thought nesting happened at the later stages Hmm

Yeah nesting is usually much later on. Do you normally have any ocd like tendencies?

I get like this from about 23 weeks onwards with all my pregnancies! I think it is hormonal. I go into super-organised mode around the house.

I'm 24 weeks and was organising the garage today! I wasn't the same with my daughter's pregnancy, I wanted everything organised before about 28 weeks! I don't know if it's officially nesting, but I think it's probably hormonal.

*I was the same

Yes this is nesting!
Be careful because it can become more than that
My 'nesting' triggered my put away/treated severe OCD which I'm still dealing with 2 years post partum
It started around 20ish weeks and by the time I was due it was so bad I couldn't actually function well as was so scared about contamination.
So just keep an eye on it and try not to let it take over! If it does then please talk to the midwife!
The baby won't care about skirting boards or kitchen cupboards...😉😉

Nope no OCD tendencies but I can feel myself getting really irate about it. Never normally care to be honest, as long as things are clean and I'm not falling over crap all over the floor then I'm good but if I had the energy id be steaming the skirting boards right now Hmm

I feel like the stuff in my room is an odd one though. Everything to me is different shades of cream and white and I really want to paint the ceiling as it looks dirty to me. OH said he can't tell what I'm talking about.

Really hope it's not the start of an obsession. Confused

I usually get bouts of nesting, 25 weeks, 30 weeks and 35 weeks ish. But what you’re describing is pretty standard nesting! I get really OCD with it but it has never caused me any long term issues... I wish it did! I love being bothered to deep clean like a crazy lady lol Smile

I started with this a bit later on but not full term... just insane organising, tidying and cleaning

I had about 5 clear outs before Baby was born.
