How many weeks pregnant?

Hi
I am trying to work out how far along I am. My periods werent always regular and tbh I'm not sure when my last one was, was around the 9th oct. My partner works away so I know I conceived on the 27th/28th of oct so how many weeks pregnant would I be? Confused with the taking the number of weeks from last period as I know I couldn't be that far on. I was wanting to book an early scan for reassurance as I've had a few miscarriages but I don't want to book too early and not see anything.

From the date of your last period you would be 7 weeks tomorrow. Pregnancy is always dated this way and technically you are 2 weeks pregnant when you conceive, which is strange but just the way it's dated. You would likely see something on a scan from 7 weeks so could book an early scan anytime really but more likely to see heartbeat after 8 I think and that might put your mind at more rest. Miscarriage is far less likely after seeing a heartbeat. Congratulations

Thank you, I'm not entirely sure exactly when my last period was but going by when I conceived is it right I still add 2 weeks on? Confusing 🙈! I think I should be around 6/7 weeks so might book one for next week! Thanks very much for your reply! I just didn't want to cause more worry by going and not finding a heartbeat because I'm too early x

The assumption is that most people ovulate in the middle of their cycle and a typical cycle is 4 weeks. So that's why they date pregnancy from your last period initially as a guide. You will be dated properly from your 12 weeks scan but it gives you a rough idea.
