EPU for early scan

Hi! I've had some spotting and mild cramps since Tuesday and spoke to EPU today who have asked me to come for a scan on Tuesday. I was wondering if anyone has had an early scan before and what it was like? I think I'm only around 5 weeks so I didn't think anything would show up on a scan yet? Still, I'm really glad they are going to see me so that I can hopefully find out a bit more about what's happening, it's horrible being in limbo!

I have had 3 early scans.
It will be an internal scan, they use a "wand" to go up and see what's going on. It shouldn't hurt at all.
I don't think they'll pick up a heartbeat yet but you should hopefully be able to see your little "blob"

Ah thank you, I don't really know what to expect it's all a bit daunting. At least I'm prepared not to see too much, hopefully it's all ok

Fwiw I bled in all 4 of my pregnancies, quite badly in the last one but all turned out fine :-)

Aw thanks that's given me some hope! I've had some quite heavy bleeding today though so I don't think it's looking too good but you never know xxx
