How can we cope?!

My partner works full time 5 days a week 9am-7pm and earns not bad money.
I had to leave my job 8 months ago due to anxiety and depression reasons.
We private rent which is expensive, with two cars, bills, food and normal living.... and now finding out we're having a baby..... I have no idea how we will cope!!

The council say that he earns too much money to get any help. But he doesn't earn enough to pay rent and council tax let alone the rest of the bills.

I feel useless!!!

Anyone been in the same situation? Or have any advice or help please!!

I can't work yet as my morning sickness is horrible and I haven't left the house for weeks now.

You'll cope, people always do.
Sort of similar situation to me, but maybe look at do you really need two cars? Two lots of insurance, car tax, fuel, garage bills - this all adds up to a lot. Maybe look at downsizing to only one car.
Also, look at private renting somewhere cheaper? I know this isn't always doable and without knowing what area you're in I don't know what rent prices are, but maybe it could be an option. But don't worry, you should get some help in the form of working tax, tax credits and child benefits so that will be a little help for you.
I'm sure everything will fall into place in the end, congratulations lovely x

@southerncomfys
Thank you. We moved a few months ago to somewhere cheaper but still struggling. I feel like Iv left my Partner down as I can't pay for bills.
We spoke about having one car but with him working all the time I wouldn't be able to get anywhere I need to as we live out in the country with no close bus route.

The morning sickness is so bad that I can't do anything lately apart from worry. I feel unhappy when I know I shouldn't be. I don't move off the sofa everyday and thinking of money is just making it worse x

Aw I feel so sorry for you!!
Hang in there, things do get better. Never feel like you've let your partner down, I bet he doesn't feel like you have. Stay strong, hugs Thanks

Firstly sending a huge hug and sorry you are feeling so bad at the moment. This is a bit strange but I'll put it out there anyway. I recently wanted to change my electricity company and ended up going with Bulb who are quite new. It saved me £45 a month on my old bills. Also they have a referral scheme so if you get anyone to sign up via your link you get £50 credit (as do they). The electricity is 100% renewable and I was looking to be a bit greener - but as it turns out I've saved money and earned credit. I put my referral code on my facebook page and told friends about Bulb and how I'd saved some money, I also put it on a few mum forums I'm in on Facebook so I've had a fair amount of people sign up which has meant I ended up with around £300 worth of credit in my electricity account (you can then credit this against your bills or withdraw it). It might be worth getting a quote - and I think they may pay your exit fees (but you'll need to check that). Also you can phone your utility and mobile companies and say that you are thinking of leaving as there are better offers about - 9 out of 10 they'll reduce your bills. I know it's not much but every little helps. Be kind to yourself - being very sick in pregnancy is bloody tough and isolating. I've been very low with my sickness and have achieved very little in the past 8 or so weeks as I've practically been in bed all the time. Hoping that you'll start to feel better soon.
