Smaller sized maternity clothes

Hi,
I’m struggling to find maternity clothes so bad !! Cant seem to find anything that fits, I’m normally a size 4/6 before pregnancy, and since getting pregnant I’ve only been putting the majority of my size on my belly and boobs! Most shops start maternity jeans at a size 8 but these look absolutely ridiculous on my skinny legs !
I am just wondering whether there’s anywhere that starts maternity clothing at a size 6 or is there any other tricks I can do!!

Have you tried Top Shop?

Cakescakescakes · 24/11/2017 16:35

I’m sure their maternity stuff started at a 6 when I was pregnant - although that was 4 yrs ago now n

If you get a few maternity bands (typically black or white bandeaus) and pair with a hair or elastic band to go around the top button, you might be able to eke out your non-maternity jeans a bit longer?

I’m not that small but have been living in leggings as it was so hard trying to find jeans that fit well..

I hated maternity jeans as they never rated up on me so I lived in dresses or tunics and maternity tights with boots. Might work better? How far on are you - would something stretchy in non-maternity (eg Top Shop Joni) work with one of these? I used these to avoid buying maternity work trousers which i only needed occasionally. You’d need a longer top but most maternity stuff is pretty long anyway.

ASOS maternity seems to have 6’s in jeans and even some 4’s in tops.

H&M, M&D, Boden and Hush all sell knee length Jersey skirts that I found a godsend during pregnancy as they just kept going over or under the bump. I matched them with larger jumpers, or layer some maternity vests under normal jumpers.

FirstMumToBe · 24/11/2017 16:50

Most main shops start in 8 I’m 23 weeks gone and literally cannot tie a band round my button any longer because it’s just digging into my belly, same with my leggings! I was wondering whether there was any good places with wider range! I’ll have a look on ASOS and see what I can find! Thank you x

h&m definitely have size 6 in their range a well as xs which us size 6.

I bought a belly belt and it was a much easier solution all round. Then right at the end of pregnancy just used leggings and dresses/tunics.

Maternity trousers are awful.

eBay was a life saver in my first pregnancy, and saved me a ton of money!

Jojo sell bump bands with little holes on to thread your existing jean buttons just to add a few extra inches. I'm due in two weeks and still fitting in my normal jeans by using one of them
