Weight gain... how much is too much?

I’m 15 weeks, and gained half a stone. Was 8stone13lbs, now 9.6lbs Am I being too careless with food? At the start of my pregnancy eating was the only thing that stopped me feeling sick.
Just to be clear, I’m not fussed about the weight gain (been waiting for this pregnancy for a very long time) but don’t want to gain an unhealthy amount, especially if it’s not the norm xx
How much did you all gain in your trimesters?

@MagggieMay I totally understand, I'm the same. Have had disordered eating since I was 11 (from full-blown bulimia to severe restriction and back again) and pregnancy has been a real challenge. Not sure I have much useful advice really, just wanted to say that I'm here with you.

I had a high bmi at booking in, and have since put on about 9 lb since then, I'm 33+2 now, with a good size bump and a predicted 8lb baby. The reasons I haven't put on more than that are because I couldn't eat much during the first trimester, thanks to nausea, so lost about 6lb in those 12 weeks. And on top of that I had a total lifestyle change, at the time I got pregnant, completely by chance. I changed jobs, so walk a lot more, drive a lot less, eat at more sensible times rather than late at night, and eat more home cooked food and less take outs and junk. Plus I stopped drinking of course, and I was drinking more than I should have been before the job change thanks to stress.

I got offered the support of the healthy pregnancy team because of my bmi, but as I hadn't put any weight on at 20 weeks, I said no thanks. They were really lovely though, I'd recommend them to anyone worried about weight in pregnancy.

@Peachgreen thanks for your post. How far along are you? It helps at the moment that I can't over or under eat without feeling sick, but this doesn't feel easy and I think it will get harder and less easy once I get a proper appetite back. It doesn't really help that a few people have told me they have "noticed a little bump" and I'm only 13 weeks. Normally that would be enough to throw me into a full on Binge day followed by restricting until enough people notice I've lost weight. Maybe pregnancy will finally help me move on from this.

I'm 36 weeks and have gained 1 stone.
They say if you are are healthy weight and bmi to begin with then 1-2 stone over the whole pregnancy is best.

I'm 28 weeks and I have gained 2 and a half stone- nearly half of that has jumped on in the last couple of weeks, which I hear is quite normal at the end of the second trimester but still going to ask MW if she thinks it's an issue. I do think it's a bit much as I was at the top end of a normal bmi when I started. I can't help that pelvic pain has made it very hard to go to the gym, I can help that I keep giving into my ice cream cravings! I obviously can't go back now but need to at least keep it under control enough that I don't have to buy another set of maternity clothes!
