Hi I'm 34 weeks and for the last 2 months have had these gross varicose veins in a place where I really really don't want them. Sometimes they hurt more than other times (eg when squatting, peeing and sex is agony.... sorry....tmi...)

I was hoping if possible for a natural active birth but not sure if this will be poss. Consultant was v blase and just said i may need an episiotomy.

Has anyone any experience of this and how was childbirth/ recovery?

Yep I had them.
Didn't affect the births at all.

Try to put your feet up as much as possible and rest.

Yes and they hurt! I had a planned section due to unrelated things. Veins went down straight after birth, I think!

I had them second time round. Didn’t even notice them during (natural and drug free) or after the birth except one day when I looked and thought ‘Oh brill, those bloody ugly veins have gone!’.

Thanks. That's v reassuring to hear. Glad they didn't affect the birth and just went away after
