Can't make a cup of tea at 5am

It's 5:30am and I'm wide awake.
My DD came in at 4:45 crying, so she's currently asleep behind me. But she keeps thrashing!
I got up to go for a wee, and now the baby won't stop kicking and jabbing my ribs.

I could quite easily get up and then nap after the school run.. but I can't make a cup of tea because it will wake the children up Sad

Our kettle is quite loud and we don't have a kitchen door (just an arch way)!

Use the hob or microwave to boil water ?

buzzbuzzbumblebee · 22/11/2017 05:54

@blamethecat I didn't even think of that!! Just shows how early it is!

I think I'll just have to get up, there's no way I can go back to sleep now.. the baby is kicking away more than he's ever done before 😴

I had that problem at half 1 this morning, woke up and had a drink of fizzy juice and the baby started kicking like mad, as I lay in bed I was worried that this wasn’t normal, was it the juice or coldness maybe that seems to have annoyed the wee one. Seems to have calmed down and kicking normally again.

I also wondered if it was hiccups the baby had... ? They were very frequent and strong movements.

buzzbuzzbumblebee · 22/11/2017 07:21

@teabagfreak I didn't think of hiccups! I'm 20 weeks, been feeling the baby kick for 2/3 weeks now. (Third baby!)

What I was feeling, was very frequent and very low down. I've had 3 scans now and this baby is very energetic and gets into funny positions.. so it could've been hiccups or he decided to punch me repeatedly! I think it felt too strong to be hiccups with me.

My first scan he was sitting up - like Buddha style!! I had to walk around so he would lay back down!
Then my scan on Monday, he wouldn't sit still. He was facing my spine, but resting his head on his arm!!
He was being so awkward that I have to go back in a couple of weeks so she can hopefully get the measurements! Luckily I had a thorough scan at 17wks at foetal medicine so we know everything is okay.
