New mum panic!!!

Hi,
I'm new here so sorry if this is in the wrong place... I am having a complete new mum panic.

I was due on yesterday and mother nature never showed. I always come on first thing in the morning when I'm due on so I knew something was up. Took a test (not first thing.. maybe lunch time?) and it was positive. Took another in the evening, also positive.

The problem is that I seem to not be able to believe and accept it. I've booked my first appointment with a midwife for my 8 weeks (4 weeks today) but it almost hasn't sunk in, and I feel like I'm denying it.

Is this normal?

Thanks x

I think that's normal, or hope it is as I'm in the exact same boat. Found out on Sunday and I don't have a midwife appointment yet (had to leave an answerphone message yesterday for them to call me today and then tell me they'l call back with an appointment, but that was 4 hours ago.), so I'm just feeling a bit twitchy and anxious, as this early I've no real symptoms, and I can't believe it happened so quickly while trying to conceive.

To clarify I didn't ask them to call me today specifically (which looking back is how I put it), the answerphone message just said they'd call within 3 days and today was when they did so.

My baby was due on Sunday and it still doesn't seem real. For some women it doesn't sink in I don't think and there's nothing wrong with that! Everyone reacts differently to things. I remember crying at one point after seeing my BFPs because I didn't really want to be pregnant because I'm totally selfish and had hoped to apply for my perfect job at the time. Life happened differently and although I'm fine with being a mum it still doesn't feel real.

Perfectly normal. It didn't sink in with mine until he was about 4 months old! At the first scan I remember saying "you're not going to find a baby in there" then when they handed him to me after birth I was convinced they had taken him from a box underneath the bed!

It's an odd but very exciting time just try and relax and enjoy it as much as possible.

Normal!

Totally normal, I've had my baby now and it still hasn't sunk in that I was pregnant and that she's mine! Not sure when it will 😁
