How many days did your implantation bleeding last?

I am now on day 7 of very light bleeding, and have had a few positive tests. If I am not losing the baby then I should only be around 4 weeks. I had implantation bleeding with my first pregnancy but it lasted only a day, maybe two. I've read a lot online that it should really only last a few days.

I've had 3 early miscarriages so realise this could be happening again. But it feels different this time - not heavy, not crampy, and started 5 days before I expected my period.

Anyway, I know you can't tell me what is happening with myself, but I'm hoping some of you can share your experiences on how long you had implantation bleeding for? Particularly if it lasted 7+ days.

Thanks! Smile

Have you had a progesterone test?

No jojo? I have no idea what that is. Would a doctor perform it? At the start of my successful pregnancy I got bloods taken on two occasions to see if levels of something were rising. But other than that haven't had any other tests. How and when would I do it?

Hi I've had implantation bleeding with two out of my four pregnancies. Both were just a stain on toilet paper when I wiped, not enough to fill even a panty liner. I've not had any losses so can't compare to that, but had bleeding on and off with my third pregnancy that was apparently old blood coming out and was slightly heavier than imolantation. Good luck x

Progesterone is the hormone that makes you not bleed. So if there’s blood for so long, I’m wondering if the level might be on the low side. A GP could send you for a blood test.
It’s different from the hCG test that you would have had in the past - that’s the hormone made by the pregnancy so can be indicative of things going ok or not.

Ah, okay! Thanks jojo. I'll speak to the gp. I was putting off making a midwife appt in case it's another early miscarriage in which case I didn't want to get my hopes up. But I'll see what they say. Thanks for the advice!

My bleeding lasted five ish days, and I assumed it was a period - now 12 weeks and 3 days. It too was a few days before I was due, and slightly lighter, but still enough to make me think it was my period. Fingers crossed for you

Thank you jjaammyy! Not getting my hopes up but what you say does make me feel better. Congrats on your pregnancy!
