Varicose veins and support tights?!!

My midwife said I need to wear support tights for the varicose veins I have developed. Am 26 wks preggers and not relishing the idea of wearing tights (which I hate anyway) as the weather heats up. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Can I wear support hold ups (do they even exist?)? Or a tuby grip, would that do the same thing?

My mum wheres suppport stockings with a suspender belt, so support stockings exist.....

Is she getting them for you?
If not ask her for more advice on what to wear and where to get them and what mmHG support rating they should be.

Some quite passable looking ones here , including holdups.

Hi, I posted a similar thread on pregnancy topic on 2nd April, and Chocolate face recommended some tights which I have tried but can't get over my big belly!!!Got some other good advice too so may be worth you having a look.
Also, mine is only on one leg, so for the last week I have been using a tubi-grip. It has really helped with the achiness and the veins look much better when I take it off. My ankle gets a little swollen when it's on but at leasst it feels better. I was told not to sleep in it though. Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks everyone. Berrysmum, I thought a tubi-grip might do the same thing, so that's what I am going to try

If you wear trousers, maybe those supportive flight socks would be ok underneath?
They come up to your knees.
