Toxoplasmosis - some reassurance?

I am 21 weeks pregnant with my first baby and struggling really badly with anxiety. This has manifested itself in different ways but one of my main concerns has been toxoplasmosis as we have a pet cat. She's 8 and we got her at 4 from a shelter. Since I've been pregnant I've been really careful to wash my hands after stroking her, wash fruit and veg thoroughly, haven't eaten rare meat etc. But tonight, I was distracted and she touched my mouth with her nose (she always used to do this but since I was pregnant I haven't let her). I immediately freaked out, wiped my mouth with a tissue and then mouthwash and boiled salted water but I'm terrified she's infected me. She is an outdoor cat and occasionally kills mice but doesn't eat them. I need to seek some proper support I think as I am losing the ability to cope with my worries. Did anyone else struggle with this when pregnant? How did you cope?

I think you need to take a step back and stop worrying yourself unnecessarily. You'll drive yourself mad!

The risk is super rare, especially if you are used to cats.

I have two and the only thing I have avoided is the litter tray, everything else as normal - they still sleep on me every night.

I really wouldn’t worry about what happened today. You should speak to your midwife or gp about your anxiety. They won’t judge you, they will able to get your the support you need.
