Hello,

I’ve been planning this for 2 years and I’m going to try and conceive early 2018 so I can have a baby born after September (so they’re the oldest of their school year).

Through fertility calculators, it states that if my last period is the 26th of December, fertilisation would probably happen on the 8th if Jan and the baby would be due 2nd October.

How accurate were your due dates were compared to the estimate? And did you use an ‘online due date calculator’ before hand and was these results fairly accurate to the actual birth date?

18 days early. If you're really that bothered about a child being among the oldest aim for October, a few weeks won't make a difference.

Prettyprettygood · 18/11/2017 16:15

10 days early, 3 days early, 13 days late.

Wishing you luck you fall pregnant when you want, most people don’t catch the first time they try. Took between 3 and 6 cycles to fall pregnant with each of my 3 dc.

Eminybob · 18/11/2017 16:20

DS was 2.5 weeks early.

I don’t think you can really plan for a due date though, getting pregnant isn’t always that easy. Been trying for number 2 for 15 months now and I couldn’t care less if they are born on the 31st August, the 1st September or Christmas Day.

HaHaHmm · 18/11/2017 16:39

DD came at 40+3 by LMP, 40+5 by scan.

But like many things to do with pregnancy, birth, and parenting, this isn’t really something that you can control. I hope that you conceive a healthy baby.

BonesyBones · 18/11/2017 16:46

My first two both came 10 days after their due dates, the third was nine days over, but he wasn't ready, wouldn't move and I ended up having an emergency section. I like to think he would've spontaneously arrived on day 10 like the others, but complications sent me to hospital the day before.

BelafonteRavenclaw · 18/11/2017 16:48

12 days late with DS1
13 days late with DS2

PandaCat · 18/11/2017 17:11

My first was 5 days early.
I'm hoping this one is born a similar time.

JoJoSM2 · 18/11/2017 17:19

Yes, it can take healthy couples up to a year to get pregnant and 1 in 6 couples will take longer/will need infertility treatment so it’s a bit ambitious assuming you can catch in the first month or 2. Although it does happen.

WineAndTiramisu · 18/11/2017 17:27

We planned for a September birth, but don't get too bothered, it took a while longer and she's due in April, to be honest by then I didn't care when she'd be born!

Tiredmum100 · 18/11/2017 17:27

Dc one 4 weeks ahead of due date
Dc two 5 days over due.
You can never tell! And as others have said you don't always get pregnant when you want. I never aimed for certain times of year, I was one of the youngest in my year, and I've turned out fine (well I think I have 😉)! My main aim was for a healthy baby both times!

KMoKMo · 18/11/2017 17:35

12 weeks early.
You’re very unlikely to fall pregnant the first month of trying so I wouldn’t let it concern you too much.

stargirl1701 · 18/11/2017 17:36

DD1 - 40+1, 8lb

DD2 - 40+1, 8lb

Allyg1185 · 18/11/2017 17:42

Ds was due 23rd June he was born 19th June

Fekko · 18/11/2017 17:44

About 16 days early (according to due date given). And I thought that they were out by two weeks as it was. It was rather a surprise birth!

DramaAlpaca · 18/11/2017 17:49

Two of mine were born five days before their due date, the other five days after.

I conceived DC3 at Christmas & he was born in September as I wanted, so it worked out perfectly.

socialmisfit · 18/11/2017 17:50

My due date was 22/23 November depending on who you talked to, and ds arrived on 20th. Waters broke on 18th.

Conceived on either 3rd or 4th March.

phoenix1973 · 18/11/2017 17:51

+12 days

NaiceToMeetYou · 18/11/2017 17:51

33 days early
20 days early

BrioAmio · 18/11/2017 17:53

I wanted a September baby, ended up with a November due date, baby arrives prem in September!

TookyClothespin · 18/11/2017 17:56

DD1 was 5 weeks early
DD2 was 3 weeks early.

It can take a healthy couple a year or more to conceive.
You can try to plan, but you cannot control when you will conceive or when baby will arrive.

HotDamnState · 18/11/2017 17:58

DC1 - a whopping 19 days late
DC2 - 3 weeks early

creamcheeseandlox · 18/11/2017 18:00

Dd due 15 Aug born 20 Aug.
Ds due 30 sept born 22 sept.

BigBaboonBum · 18/11/2017 18:03

2 days early and then induced at 7 days late

NickMarlow · 18/11/2017 18:05

Dd was 2 weeks early, ELCS for medical reasons.

I ideally wanted children born early in the school year too. Dd took 11 cycles to conceive. Dc2 (if this pregnancy is successful) took 18. You may be one if the lucky ones who can plan for particular birth months but for a lot if people it just doesn't happen like that.

weegiemum · 18/11/2017 18:07

Mine were 4 days early, 10 days early and 3weeks early.
