Anyone else pregnant with number 4?! 😲

As the title suggests, I have three already and yesterday found out that there's a fourth on the way.

Totally and utterly unplanned!!

I haven't told dp yet as he's away but I'm worried about how he's going to feel....

Anyone else pregnant with their fourth? Could do with someone to chat to before I burst!

I keep telling myself that compared to the other 3, this one will be a breeze. This baby has no choice but to slot in with the rest. And I'll be able to finish with the baby/toddler phase in one go..... I'm trying to be optimistic but some days when the other 3 are acting up I do think we are made to have 4 under 5

Oh elves. It will be very full on but as you say, the baby/toddler stage will be over soon enough and then you'll have a lovely little gang Smile do you have girls/boys?

Today hasn't been a great day for me, either. Dp is miserable and I'm just wondering how the hell im going to cope!

Flowers for all. This is such a blessing and I feel so very lucky, but I'm so worried at the same time!

Elves, sounds like we've the same going on. 😂 Mine are 4, 3 and 2. New one will have to just get out of my tummy and walk.

I’m lucky this time round as all mine are full time. With the others I always had an older one at home with a newborn. I’m feeling positive haha

Winner- after the summer hols I'll also have three in school. It'll be a breeze, right?! Wink

So I finally got dp to talk lastnight, and he outlined all of the things he's worried about Sad he's walking round with a cloud over his head.

I found going from 3 to 4 the easiest transition !
Many congratulations , four is lovely (so much so that I'm now pregnant with my 6th)! X

Well done Brutus! So far, this pregnancy has gone quicker than the previous two. I'm 14 weeks now and I'm trying to hold off making it public until after Christmas because I find all conversations become about being pregnant or children. Has anyone else been asked if they are "done" by random acquaintances? I get that question about once a week and I always find it slightly off putting. Can't say I'm looking forward to the awkwardness when i answer "actually, I'm pregnant..."

Thanks, elves! I know what you mean. Have just been with my parents, both of whom were celebrating the fact that a) no more nappies and b) when my youngest starts school in sept, I'll get a bit of myself back.....eek!

I have a pretty impressive bump for 14 weeks but according to my lovely sister I dress like a fat art teacher so no one notices....

Me! We planned for our 4th and got pregnant fairly quick. When baby is here I'll have a 10, 6 and 3 year old. Mega excited due in June. Not told anyone except dh. Scan is 14 Dec so would love to hold out until then and share our news. Usually I've told my family at 4 or 5 weeks haha. I have had horrendous sickness so it's been hard not telling anyone. And I'm feeling sorry for myself.
I suffered terrible spd with all babies and each got worse so really dreading that kicking in.
My family will be a bit disappointed I'm sure as I always made sure they knew we wanted 4 but I would get negative responses haha

Hi, late to the party but I am expecting number 5 - with a 6yr break between 5 and 6!
I was also v nervous of telling DH, who surprised me by getting his head around the idea quicker than I did! I'm now 15 weeks and gettign used to the idea, I've enjoyed reading you being excited - its helped me to realise this is a good thing even if a shock! Thank you

Hi again all! This thread had fallen down to about page 6 and took a while to find! Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.

I've had a few wobbles. I'm pleased to say, though, that dp has come round and is looking after me and being so positive about the whole thing! That really helps. Hope you're all well Flowers

Need - congratulations!! What's it like having 4?! Hopefully your fifth will slot in nicely Smile

Hi Brutus, glad your DH is looking after you nicely
4 is fun, but busy - unsurprisingly! Number 5 will have to slot in a nap in the pram on the school run like number 4 quickly learnt to!
How far on are you now?

elvesareneverhappy · 30/11/2017 23:14

Hi! Well our secret is out. DH mentioned it randomly to someone we don't really know and it has spread like wildfire. I'm slightly annoyed as I'm almost 16 weeks and I'm pretty sure if he hadn't said anything I would have made it to my 20 week scan. But hey ho....

How are you feeling now Brutus? Congrats Need on number 5! How far along is everyone?

BrutusMcDogface · 01/12/2017 14:01

Hi Need, I'm 7 weeks now. My boss was just talking about my future at the place where I work; what I can take on/manage etc etc and I don't think I was as enthusiastic in my responses as I could have been, because....I'm not even going to be able to see out the school year. I'm so worried about telling them!

Elves, omg! How annoying! Have you had any less-than-positive responses? Hope not!

I really want to book an early scan but thinking we shouldn't spend the money......🤔

Nothing overtly negative to my face. But I've noticed that people with young children are surprised(and think we are mad) but I've had a lot of comments from friends and relatives who are over 65 who said they wish they had more kids when they had the chance. I had a woman in her 80s stop me in a shop with my double buggy and a buggy board and said when I am her age it would all be worth it. So I'm hanging on to that.

I've booked a private scan for 16 weeks. I don't really care if it is a boy or girl but I would like to start sorting out the ridiculous amount of baby clothes we have amassed. I also think I need to be prepared for someone telling DC1 or saying something in front of her. I haven't told her yet because we thought the longer we don't tell them, the shorter the wait until baby arrives.

My number 4 will be here early next week!!!
I am quite anxious - about the ELCS, the recovery and then just looking after 4 kids being sleep deprived!!! My toddlers will still go to childcare twice per week so that should help.
I just keep on telling myself it will be OK - it will have to be!!!
