Can anyone give me advice please on how I can ease sickness, the worse weakness like I’m going to flake away, and dizzy like I’m going to faint even sitting down!
I’m 6 weeks and 4 days and crying every second because I can’t eat or drink.

I ate boring food constantly and drank shed loads of water. Breadsticks usually. It helped in that I could usually function enough to get to work.

Not trying to make you feel worse but morning sickness can be pretty debilitating. I told work at around 8 weeks because I still needed to take a fair amount of time off. I could manage most days eating the second I woke up and then getting out of bed after abour half an hour but not always and at least that way I had legal protection for my absences. Went away about 20 weeks for me but it can be earlier. Take your multivitamin when you are mostly likely to keep it down and ride it out!

Oh I just remembered there was a little white pill twice a day as well - helped me to take the train to and from work.

I used to joke that baby was worth it - but only just!

I’m trying to take my vitamins and folic acid at night so less chance of throwing it up. But even bread or water comes back up.

Waddlingwanda · 16/11/2017 21:20

You sound like me! Have you had your iron levels checked. I felt like you and yes a lot had to do with me keeping very little down, but I also turned out to have low iron levels which obviously contributed

Elephantgrey · 16/11/2017 21:29

Poppy if you can't drink go to the doctor and tell them. You might have Hyperemersis. There is a support thread on here. The ladies recommended to me that I try ice lollies and this did help me to keep some liquid down. Yes I do know it is November!
I was sent straight to the hospital because I couldn't keep down any liquids. I was given medication ( that is safe to take in pregnancy) and put on a drip. I was genuinely shocked to be admitted as I expected to be told is was making as fuss over nothing. My midwife said it was ok if I didn't manage to eat much food but if you can't keep down fluids that can be more serious.

My midwife told me it was fine to take more than one folic acid per day so I took one with each meal so if I threw it up I can more chance of keeping one down.

wasMissD · 16/11/2017 21:35

There are several sickness tablets your doctor can prescribe you, which will help out to eat meals.
Hypremesis is horrible. I was put on a drip one day as I was so dehydrated cos I couldn't even drink water.
Out of interest- are you taking Pregnacare or Seven Seas vitamins? I've read they make some people's nausea worse (think it's something o do with taking iron when you don't need to). I switched to a bog standard boots folic and vitamin D and don't know if it was coincidence but my nausea stopped (was week 11 of pregnancy).
Good luck! And just think, it's not forever Smile

Poppy1989 · 17/11/2017 16:44

Iv been taking seven seas pregnancy tablets. For the first week I felt fine but as soon as Iv hit 6 weeks Iv just been so ill.

This is now day 4 of being sick, feeling sick. Not getting out of bed and I feel so
Miserable it’s unreal.

Go to the gp. If nausea or sickness interferes with your ability to function then you need medication.

wasMissD · 17/11/2017 16:58

You sound like you're going through what I did. Bless you. I lived in bed with water, ginger biscuits and my laptop for a week x

Poppy1989 · 17/11/2017 17:04

I really feel miserable and so upset. I wanted to enjoy this and be happy. And now I don’t think I can do it at all. I can’t keep feeling like this for any longer. Its the weekend now so my GP will be shut. Come Monday I have no way to get there as I’m too weak to move and deff can’t drive.
I really wanted pregnancy to be an experience which I enjoyed.

Poppy have a look and see if there is an early pregnancy unit in your area. This is a place where you can go if you are in the early stages of pregnancy and need to be seen quickly.
If you tell them that you can't even keep down water they should take it seriously.

justtheonethen · 17/11/2017 17:55

EPU is good idea but lots are mon-fri. Walk in centre? Call 111 if you're not sure where. They may be able to get you a telephone consultation with a GP. If you haven't/don't kept/keep anything down for 24 you need to go to a&e for fluids.

You need to be proactive to get help, I know it sounds harsh but I totally sympathise and you need help. I have hyperemesis and in the beginning I would have happily died rather than get help as I just couldn't. Time for your OH to step up and get you the help you need. Mine carried me gagging and crying to the car and took me to the gp, then to a&e. It was hell but the relief from the drip was heaven.

Don't leave it too long, dehydration isn't good for you or the baby. Sending a hand hold Flowers

littlemissalwaystired · 17/11/2017 18:02

If you're not managing to keep down any fluids at all then please call your maternity unit and they may admit you overnight for IV fluids and stronger anti-emetic drugs. Can you manage a few ice poles? Putting squash in an ice cube tray and sucking on those? Hope you feel better soon, it really is rubbishFlowers

Ameliablue · 17/11/2017 18:11

The dizziness could be down to dehydration. Are you still passing urine and if so but in small quantities and dark in colour, again it is likely that you are dehydrated so don't wait till the weekend, phone 111 as they should be able to direct you to the appropriate out of hours for your area.

CaptainsCat · 17/11/2017 18:59

You sound like you could be getting dehydrated OP, and it sounds like you might be suffering from hyperemesis. Please call EPU / 111. It's really important you catch any dehydration early - and without scaring you, you could be feeling at least this bad for weeks and weeks without rehydration and anti sickness mess. Get yourself seen! Been there twice and know how you feel Flowers

wasMissD · 17/11/2017 19:02

Try the walk in centre. They referred me to the hypremesis suite at my local hospital and was the best thing. Within 10 minutes on the drip and the drug injected in my leg, I was scoffing a ham sandwich!

thelittlethingz · 17/11/2017 22:31

I went to the doctor who gave me some meds for it because I was so dizzy I was struggling walking! They helped a bit but I only used them on a few occasions
