Wondering if anyone has had similar experiences - concerns bleeding in pregnancy

Hello,

I'm 9 and a half weeks pregnant with my second and I'm having a scary time. I bled throughout my first pg; started as spotting on and off (every colour going), which was getting worse and happening daily by the time I was 10 weeks, then carried on progressively worse until by 20 weeks I was losing a lot of blood. At 24 weeks I gave birth prematurely and we lost our little girl the next day. We never found a cause for the bleeding, but low lying placenta was suggested.

This time around (aftet 2 years ttc and IVF) I'm having one or two wipes of blood stained discharge every few days. In fact, until last night there had been no spotting for 10 days. But there it was again, a blob of orangey cm.

I just wondered if anyone had experienced something like this - a pregnancy that ended due to bleeding and the spotting next time around which then settled?? I know that very often spotting is not a cause for concern, but with my history it is terrifying.

Thank you for reading this and for any experience you can share.

I can see why you are worried after what you went through with your first pregnancy.

I had bleeding with both my pregnancies and carried full term (2 healthy dd's), mine was due to erosion of my cervix. I Bled from 6 weeks onwards with dd2, usually after sex or after staining ( going for a poo ).

Have you seen a midwife yet? Hopefully they can arrange for a early scan to put your mind at rest and offer you more advice.

Keeping everything crossed for you x

Thanks Lovemusic, yes I've seen my midwife and my consultant (and the perinatal mental health team) so I am very well supported. Like last time we don't know why its happening but we feel do feel a bit hopeful because it is not getting worse this time. I suspect it's just a waiting game...

I had the nasty brown blood, like I was going rusty. Everything was fine, he's 18 now
