*Warning TMI pics* Thick weird yellow colour discharge

I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant and for the past 2 weeks I’ve been having thick lumpy yellowish discharge sometimes it has a hint of green ish.. when I wipe and sometimes If I’ve been laying down for a while and stand up I can literally feel it coming out of me! Disgusting I know :(

Also me and my partner haven’t had sex in over 2 weeks because last time it was all over him and it was so embarrassing and gross :(

Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve read posts about it being normal for more discharge than normal in pregnancy but I’ve never had discharge this thick/colour before!

I understand the seeing a doctor would probably be my best option but my local doctors take the p*ss with appointments and I’m hoping it’s nothing to serious - maybe treatment I could get over counter?

I’ve attached pics below to show a little more of what I mean. Sorry for those that are queasy!! I just want to get this sorted*

Looks like thrush to me.

Itsjustaphase84 · 15/11/2017 12:22

Looks like thrush. Your partner has to be treated too or he will return infect you. I've had this.

kellyrichards · 15/11/2017 12:32

Thanks all for your responses. I’ve never had thrush before - is this normal in pregnancy? Do you think if i go to a local pharmacy they will be able to assist me ?

YouBoggleMyMind · 15/11/2017 12:33

That looks like thrush and yes, the pharmacy will be able to help as long as you explain you are pregnant. It’s common in pregnancy due to change of hormones. Nothing to worry about, just super annoying!

tmc14 · 15/11/2017 12:37

Is most likely thrush. I’ve now got it for the first time in my life (an 39 weeks). You can get cream over the counter no problem if you’re pregnant, but that hasn’t cured mine, as that’s just for external use. I’ve got a Dr appointment this afternoon to ask for the pessary as well, which can’t be sold to pregnant women without a prescription. That should hopefully clear the internal infection. Good luck!

Mustang27 · 15/11/2017 12:39

I got it 3 times in my first as well as a reoccurring uti. Pregnancy is not always fun. Good luck. Do treat your partner too or it will continue.

tmc14 · 15/11/2017 12:39

Also, my Dr is the same for appointments usually, but I phoned this morning, said I was pregnant & gave graphic details & they miraculously had an appointment this afternoon! 😁

oldlaundbooth · 15/11/2017 12:40

I'd go to the docs.

movingtowardsthelight · 15/11/2017 12:44

Definitely thrush. Normal in pregnancy so don’t worry. Do see you GP for pessaries.

user1469751309 · 15/11/2017 12:47

Defiantly thrush I had the same. It's not pleasent and they won't give you treatment if you tell them your pregnant at the chemist. The doctor might but you have to be careful with the pessary that you don't push it up to far. I literally had thrush from day one of pregnancy until my LO was born

BigBaboonBum · 15/11/2017 15:17

Definitely thrush. Had an amazingly disgusting bout of this last pregnancy!

BigBaboonBum · 15/11/2017 15:18

And just get a pessary (and maybe cream), it should sort it straight out

kellyrichards · 15/11/2017 15:31

Thanks All. Going to give my GP a ring tomorrow. I definitely feel like I’d need internal treatment as I don’t feel like it’s anything to be treated externally - if that makes sense ? How long did it take for those that have an internal treatment for thrush to completely clear?

Yes probably thrush. I’ve had it about 6 times this pregnancy. Totally harmless and nothing you can do to prevent it according to my consultant. I’m high risk due to a previous premature baby.
I’ve been prescribed the pessary and cream and told to put the pessary in just before bed. Takes a day or so for the discharge to stop for me and beware of the chalky mass of remaining pessary that eventually comes out.
The symptoms of thrush in pregnancy were different for me. I had no real itching so I was doing a swab at each appointment I had. If the pessary doesn’t work ask your midwife or GP if you can do a self swab and they can send it off for testing for you.

teddy44 · 18/06/2018 04:45

Did you ever find out exactly what this was?

OliviaFlower692 · 22/05/2019 00:19

Probably thrush.

Wray19 · 07/06/2020 02:14

I have the same thing but am not pregnant and i contacted my doctor's the next day after finding it, got given a prescription for a week but symptoms didn't change and it's been 5 weeks now.

LakeGold · 09/06/2020 02:08

I’ve been dealing with his since April now, such a nightmare. I’ve been put on a 6 week course prescription pill and I’ve not noticed a different yet, I’m on week 5. I’ve also tried the pessary, felt relief for a couple days then the discharge was back again 🙁

Veroamg · 10/07/2020 04:47

I have the same problem, I’m not pregnant. When I insert a tampon it comes out cover in the same discharge is thick 😖. Doesn’t itch.

Lmaoew · 10/07/2020 05:02

Yea I have this problem and I’m not pregnant

Kikighhb · 13/01/2021 06:08

I have this reoccurring, first time it stopped but now it’s back. My doctor said it’s a yeast infection, get some probiotics. Stress can cause it also. I’m also tired of going to a Gynecologist cause they’re very expensive. Still trying to find something that works other than antibiotics which can trigger it more.

PHUMS · 24/11/2021 03:31

Did you end up getting help, I have this and I’m worried.

User58295028380 · 29/01/2024 20:47
